Default It's Earth Day - Do you buy from "green" businesses?

Hi there stampers.

Since it's Earth Day, I am curious about something. Has the movement towards going green in the little things, started to influence your crafting purchases yet?

I try to buy from places that minimize packaging and such. There are a few paper companies that use all recycled paper (or elephant dung).... but generally they're so expensive and don't ship to Canada. Sadly, this is the one area of my life that isn't THAT green. I try to use all my scraps and such... minimize waste from crafting. If only there were more GREEN crafting companies out there.

Maybe there is, and I don't know about them. Anyone have Green companies that they use?

I would say it hasn't influenced my purchases but I do use more of my scraps and keep everything I can use again! Recycling all the bits and pieces left over.

I switched from paper/plastic to all cloth bags. My grocery store sells them for 99 cents and then gives you 5 cents back for each bag whenyou use them. I love them and its helps with the environment. We recycle, compost, reuse when possible. I don't look for green companies but I do try to buy with less packaging.

If any stamp companies are reading this - stop using packing peanuts!!! Gawd I hate those things. I can't recycle them and if you don't put them in side of something they blow out when the garbage truck dumps the trash.

In hopes that some of the new compinies are reading this, there are packing peanuts made from cornstarch that you can wet and they melt!

I recycle everything possible, my hubby runs the local solid waste company! Everything off the computer goes in Office Paper, my paper scraps goes in co-mingle paper and right on down the line!

I bought some household cleaners from our local janitorial place today that are eco-friendly and safe for septics.

It is something we all must work at and we need to understand that not everything can be recycled and to use those items sparingly.
