I am looking at getting an ink pad holder. What does everyone think of the SU color caddy? My mother in WI purhcased it and doesn't really like it. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks.
If you use another ink pad holder, I'd love to hear ideas about that too!
I'd like to know the answer to this too. I have a CraftLocker Inkpad Locker and I love it. It takes 24 SU inkpads but right now I have other one's in there - like Adirondack and Brilliance. I wouldn't mind getting the SU one but I'd like to know what others think because I've heard that that type of inkpad holder takes up a lot of room on a craft desk. The CraftLocker one I have doesn't take up much room at all and it's portable too.
I have the SU caddy. I like it.
The SU one is portable, if you choose to move it. The thing that I like about it is that it's minimal. It hardly takes up much space. I read on here that some ladies had some trouble spinning it. I didn't crank the handle down as much when I got mine and it turns fine. The only thing that I would change is to add a couple more slots for the naturals. SU doesn't have just 48 colors anymore, the holder shouldn't either.

I have the SU caddy and have enjoyed it. True, some improvements could be made to it, but in reality, it works for me. Mine turns easily and takes up very little space.
I have the Color Caddy and I love it. I've not had any problems with it. It sits right on my working area and gets used daily. I'm even thinking of getting a second one.
I love my caddy but agree with everyone else that it would be nice if it had a few extra slots. I never put the handle on mine so I wouldn't be tempted to pick it up using it. I've thought of getting another one for discontinued pads, natural pads & extra pads. I heard they were coming out with a new one this summer but not sure if that is true. Liz
I love my $5 cassette tape holder, there's 24 slots on each of 4 sides so I go every other one, and it turns. I glued a basket on top for refills so unfortunately I covered the nema brand! But- I heard about it on SCS so I'm sure someine knows, not sure if you can still get them, I bought mine last year...wish I had bought 2!!
I have one from suink.net. I didn't want the SU one because it wouldn't hold all my stamp pads for the color families, neutrals and Versmark. I have the big one with the drawers. I really love it and it sits at the end of my stamping table. It spins with easy and holds everything I need close by. It was expensive, but had everything I needed.
I also have the one from suink.com My dh bought it for me for Christmas! I love how I can store the reinker right beside the ink pad and the marker too! I liek the way it also holds wheels, scissors, etc. It is very heavy to move, but I just wanted something for my stamp area. I would recommend it!
If you are concerned about that, the new catty arrives July 1, so maybe you should wait???
ps. don't take this as a hint that there is a new ink pad caddy -- I've haven't heard a thing about it.
Hi Joan,
I live in Australia and SU are opening for business here on April 3rd. They've brought out an Australian version of their catty (which I should be getting any day now) so if it's not the one in there then I'll assume it won't be for a while.
Oh and by the way, if it is then I'll let you know.
My mom purchased the ink holder and she really likes it. because it doesn't turn, she went to WalMart and bought an inexpensive lazy susan so now it turns. It is really ideal in that she doesn't have a huge stamping workspace. The tape cassette holders are nice if you can get your hands on them. Ebay is a place to check. Just make sure that the slots go deep enought to adequately anchor the ink pads.
