Default i'm sooo frustrated!!!

this is the second Fiskars paper trimmer i purchased and im still getting crooked cuts...it's not the rotary kind it's the one with the little blade thingie that slides up and down the plastic track. i just emailed them to see if others are having the same problem. are the new ones from SU good? im so completely mad! i depend on my cutter like most of us do. im a demo so i need a good cutter! i have been using Fiskars for years and i think thats why im so upset!

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

thanks!
Loretta

The new paper cutter from SU is still made by Fiskars but it is AWESOME! I had a lot of problems with my old cutter but this one cuts much better!! I highly recommend it to all of my customers!

The new trimmer is much better... the cutting cartridge "locks" into a track, so it has more stability... the guides don't spread while you're moving the cutter. That's what causes the crooked cuts on the old style trimmers. Also, the cutting guides on the new trimmer are AWESOME!

I love the new cutter as well. But if you have to make do with the old one, here's some advice from Auntie JanTink:

Use just one finger to push the blade. Put the cardstock at the top, make sure the guide is down ALL the way, and put your index finger on the blade and push it down and up towards the top. You will end up with straighter cuts this way because you are not twisting the blade against the guides as you push it.

I had the same problem with my paper cutter and I e-mailed Fiskars and they actually sent me a brand new (new style) paper cutter free of charge! Their customer service is great!

I use Stampin' Up!'s new paper trimmer for making my smaller cuts. It is much improved over the old version. As a demo, I also own a large Fiskars rotary cutter so I can cut large quantities of card stock quickly. I have heard the Carl Cutters are really awesome for mass cutting at one time. That is on my list to purchase.
