I'm so PROUD of my DH
He's FINALLY seen the light!
He came home last night and asked if I could make a sympathy card for one of his operators at work whose grandfather had died.
I asked him what kind of card did he want, so he **gulp** went through all my stamps to pick out what he liked...
AFTER going through my stamps, he asked, don't you sell some outdoorsy manly stamps? And I said, well, yes, but I never really thought I'd need them for anything (ever so slyly...) All I have is Lovely as a Tree.
SO he went through my catty and picked out Angler, Nobel Deer and Wildfowl and said - Go buy those so you can make some more cards for me for the guys at work. I don't want to have to send them some sissy flowery cards for their birthdays and such. You've gotten pretty good at this junk, ya know. (Big compliment coming from him)
YEAH! He finally understands!!!!!! AND he didn't have a stroke when he saw all the stamps that I had! I mean, they are out in the open, but he never ventures into my accident-waiting-to-happen room, as he calls it. (It is a little cluttered)
Though, I am a little scared about what the above means. I've always offered to make him anything he ever needed, but that was done with the understanding that he thought what I was doing was a bunch of frilly, silly stuff that was cute and kept me from going to Home Depot where the real damage could be done. Now he's actually wanting me to DO some cards for him... Well, I do guess that was the whole point of me starting all this!
YEAH HAPPY FOR MY DAY!!! DH WANTING me to buy stamps. And of COURSE I'll have to get some more brads and hemp, maybe some eyelets to go with the cards. And, ya know, pink just isn't a manly color, so I'll need to go get some more cardstock also... Those copper metal tags go well with manly cards...Okay. okay. maybe I should slow down a little. Don't want to TOTALLY overwhelm him and make him sorry that he told me to go buy something!

That is GREAT! My husband is getting more supportive too. In fact, sometimes when I show him a card I've been working on, he'll even give me ideas to make it look better! Team work!

it IS great to be appreciated.
AND I just added sporting goods to my list too. Seems he's got some friends with kids that play ball and he wants to send the kids some cards as well....

That's awesome! Your DH deserves a huge hug. My DH is totally supportive. He encourages me and compliments the cards I do. He even compliments the cards I get from my RAK sisters. He's so sweet. He knows that when he needs a card he can come to me. It is very validating to be recognized for your talent and creativity. Of course, I support his total addiction to mountain biking. The man's got legs of steel!
My husband is getting more supportive as well. I am a demo and he has offered to take more time with the kids so I can do more home Workshops and actuually get time to play.
You need to make sure you have $150 in order to get the additional hostess benefits and awards. You don't want to miss out on that. Have fun!
I have finally figured out (after 20 years of marriage) that if I am patient, DH eventually comes around to my way of thinking. Patience is the key and I'm learning it brings it's own reward.

YOU are my hero! Every day I subtly work at training my DH....looks like your DH has finally GRADUATED!
Go girl!

It is so great when people appreciate what you do. my DH is the one that got me started! I had been scrapbooking for 5 years and a friend has some stamps one day and he suggested I get some. I don't think he realized what he was getting into. 2 years later I am now a Demo and I love it ! My daughters both love to stamp and now my son ( a teenager) wants to know why we don't have funny silly stamps that he could use. Who would have thought ! When I have parties my DH will order something for one of us to save for BD presents we never know who its for.
Have a lot of fun shopping.
Fantastic!!! Of course, he must be proud of your work .... even more so, now that he wants you to make more cards for his co-workers!! I second the notion to add enough supplies so it's a "hostess" order!!!!

This had me ROTF!!! I love it!!
I've had my DH pick out stamps, too. I was surprised that he went for the more expensive sets. All he did was tell me to buy them and do something with them. Let me think, OKAY!
Good on you!
My DH has always been supportive.
You need to get him to pick up some formica chips, paint sample cards & tiles at Home Depot. Guys like that stuff too. Think of those coaster/trivets you could make.
Then to train them to use them
Sporting Goods is a good one too for guys. Have been busily making Hoopy Birthday cards - spinning basketball into the hoop.
