If you signed up for the new SU demo deal....
Or if you are going to....
What stamp sets did U order?
I ordered Awash With Flowers, Autumn Days, Inspired By Nature, Farm Life and I can't remember the small less expensive set I ordered. I'm so excited!
I'm interested to see what everyone ordered.
Also, did you get clear mount or wood mount? I love wood mount but with clear mount! I'm going in that direction whenever I can from now on.

I haven't decided whether or not I will do this (I used to be a demo and couldn't really make a go of it, but saving so much on the product is pretty seductive), but if I do, I am looking at In Wilderness for the clear mount, Just Believe, Tiny Teacup, and I'm not sure about the other set although I am considering Got Treats or Glorious and Free.
I don't have an order form, so I may not have the prices right.
I ordered Dasher, Greeting Card Kids, Thoughts and Prayers and Baby Bundle. I'm going more towards clear also, when available! Order comes tomorrow! Can't wait because these were sets that I wanted anyway. What a deal!
I'm thinking of signing up but haven't made my final decision. I have only used SU's clear/cling stamps once and they kept falling off the acrylic blocks. I've never had a problem with cling/clear stamps from other companies. Don't know what happened... I've been looking over the order sheet tonight. I'll let you know if I join and what I order. It's a sweet deal!

I know there were a lot of posts concerning the clear mount stamps falling off. Lots of stampers were saying not to put on the sticker. That seemed to be the problem. I left my stickers off the one set I own.
I did read a few posts that there wasn't any problems with the stickers. I don't think anyone knew what to make of it all!

Since they went to clear mount, that is all I order if it is available. I have not put the stickers on them and they work fine. I figured my other unmounted stamps do not have the image on the back, so it wasn't a big deal to me. I figure if I ever get around to making a reference book of all my stamps, I will use them for that.

I always trim closely around the sticker so I get a layer of cling around the edge- works great for me.

The stickers don't stick as well but I don't have any problems and I use the stickers (how many times can I use some form of the word stick in a sentence, geez, lol!). I just can't not put the stickers on, I HATE stamping with the "naked" stamps, haha. The key is to keep the blocks and the cling side of the stamp clean. They won't stick if they get dirty and just even touching them gets the oil from your hands all over.
So, keep them clean and two other things that can help are one to huff on the block to create some steam when you mount it and press firmly for like 10 seconds. It takes time to create a good seal, I think a lot of people are popping them on and stamping. I place my stamp rubber side down and press the block on and press and hold for about 5-10 seconds. I've had virtually no problems. Good luck!
Is it really just that easy to sign-up, select your goodies & never be a demo?
Really?
I am so very tempted but not familiar with all of SU! products.
What are the MUST have's or the "nah, wish I hadn't" items?
Anyone help point me in the right direction...aka Enable me!
:-D
When I was a demo, I had two recruits who only bought the starter kit and never demo'ed anything. They received an e-mail close to the end of their quota, but they were not harrased by SU at all. If SU was angry about people signing up without planning to demo, they would find some way to block them (maybe charging full price for starter kit, but reimbursing them after their first $100 order or some such thing.
I ordered Word Play and Broadsheet Alphabet both in clear (this was I could get more expensive sets that wouldn't have qualified in the wood mount). I also got the music note wheel, the baby set So Cute (in Clear Mount) and went with the suggested I Heart Hearts in Clear mount as I have been eyeing that one for a while.

I'm wondering what the extra perks for a demostrator are during the Sale-abration in January 2011?
It's the same as the customers get. We earn them for every $50 (in the US) we spend. I'm not sure about the CAN numbers. Also, based on sales during SAB, if you sell enough you can earn a free set (from the big catty) after SAB is over. The more you sell, the higher the value.

I always said I would never be a demo. Well, I guess never say never because I too am considering signing up just to get these great prices.
I have a question about Awash with Flowers. I like it too and considered using it as one of my sets. Isn't it more than the allowed price for the highest stamp you can trade off?

I have a silly question. I'm seriously considering this. I noticed while I was looking at what I would order there are two prices in the catalog, do you go by the regular price or the preferred price when you select the set?
It should be the preferred price (I think...whichever is lower!) If you sign into a demo website, you should see the correct prices. Or you can download the catalog from the Stampin' Up! website.
I signed up last night and can't wait to get my kit! I am really nervous about starting because I don't know too many people that stamp and hope to be able to meet new people and get my business out there. For my kit, I got the Fun & Fast notes, With all my heart, A word for you, and so many thanks. I had already purchased the Dasher, From the Kitchen, and Totally Tess so that will be helpful to start off.

If you are looking at the catalog, are you looking at the clear mount versus wood mount prices. For most sets there will be two prices. One that is higher that is the mounted and a lower price for the unmounted. The mounted should have a little W by it and the clear mount will have a C next to it.
The "preferred" prices are only shown online. The catalog only shows the regular customer prices. HTH!
So does that mean I don't have to get three wood and one clear set? If I stay at or below the price of the suggested set, can I get all clear sets? I guess I was thinking that I had to get three wood sets.

No, you can choose wood mount, clear mount, or any combo, as long as each one stays under the corresponding stamp set dollar amount.
I got Pun Fun, Sincere Salutations and Fox & Friends (clear stamp)
I am totally excited and can't wait to get my hands on them.... and hopefully I will be a good demo or at least do girls night with all these fun toys!
Tonight I filled in the required info so that I could start placing my custom starter set. I already have Fun and Fast Notes so I decided on Just Believe which is also 33.95. It is not one of the options that I can pick. I also tried to order clear mount Vintage Vogue instead of I heart Hearts and I couldn't do that. Then the paper which I have a lot of SU paper. I don't need an assortment so I tried to get Cherry Cobbler instead, no it has to be a collection. So at that point I canceled. I am going to think this over again, but I don't think it is going to happen.
I signed up on Monday, and am so excited to get my kit. I got On Your Birthday, Circle Circus, Artistic Etchings and Dot, Dot, Dot. It should be here next Thursday. Woohoo, I love SU!!
I signed up last night I ordered Pun Fun, Smarty Pants, Full of life, and for you flower. I cant wait to get my kit. I also have three people who would like to join a stamp club that I plan on starting in January. I'm so excited!!!

Stamp club, what is that?? I just signed up too and can't wait for my package!

I believe you're right about the paper assortment having to be swapped out for another assortment, but there's no reason you shouldn't be able to make the changes on the two stamp sets that you've mentioned. Ask the person with whom your signing up to help you out directly with Stampin' Up!
You should be able to sub the Cherry Cobbler for the Whisper White which is on the line after the CS assortment. And how about getting the In Colors as your paper assortment? They're new(ish) and fun!.
I signed up on Tuesday and I got my confirmation and demo number Thursday night. So excited and nervous at the same time!! I ordered all clear mount sets: Just Believe, Got Treats, Countryside, Sweet Birthday (wood mount) and the Fall Harvest Wheel. I decided to keep the whisper white paper and the brights d/s paper stack. I have almost all the markers but needed to get a new real read/night of navy. And I ordered crumb cake, cherry cobbler, pacific point and daffidiol delight in ink pads. I've got a bunch from before so I wanted to switch out to other colors.
Wood:
Fun & Fast Notes
For All You Do
So Many Thanks
Clear
For Everything
Wheel
Fast Flowers
I figured I would focus on Thank You notes since by the time I get the ball rolling, it will be too late for customers to order Christmas stamps.
For the clear stamps I did put the sticker on them and some stick better than others. I am going to purchase some Aleene's Tack it Over & Over when I get a chance to go to a craft store. They are definately useable but I think they will stick better with the Aleenes. (I saw this on a YouTube video and read about it before) I am also going to use this for unmounting my older wooden stamps.

Stamp club, what is that?? I just signed up too and can't wait for my package!
you have a group of ladies that say they will order a certain amount every month, and every month someone different is the hostess. i know one lady that is in a club, they get together once a month and learn something new, and each one must order a minimum of $30 (before shipping and taxes). the hostess is different each month and they can get outside orders. there are 8 ladies, and their demo has made them sign a contract for sept through to may (they skip december and july/aug). there is an option for june, where the hostess would be a surprise hostess.
at least that is how it works up here (contract is optional of course)
