Default If you DON't use a stamp-a-ma-jig, how do you make straight titles?

Just wondering. I've seen all of the great things said about this tool, but still not sure if I 'get' it even after the tutorial.

I usually don't bother with mine unless it *has* to be perferct (and none of my handmade cards *must* be ). My stamps are unmounted (no foam nor rubber) and my blocks are acylic so placement is pretty easy. Even still, my titles aren't always perfectly straight, but it doesn't bother me.

I think it really depends on how perfect your want your result!

I don't have one either - I know that many scrappers LOVE theirs. I mount my alpha's lower left and just 'peek' around at it - LOL - pretty technical!

MaryR . . . that IS pretty technical. Not sure if I can keep up with that ;)

Thanks--I'm usually a 'fly by the seat of my pants' scrapper/stamper. I love my results, and I don't measure much--just eyeball it.

A stamp-a-ma-jig really helps if your doing certain techniques where you need to stamp an image exactly over in the same place. On some of the new stamp sets it would help for putting the center part of a circle in, like on "Seeing Spots" or for using "All in a Row". I don't use mine all the time but there are times when you really do want to get it just so.

If you don't use a Stamp-a-Majig and you want to make straight titles, you go out a buy a S-a-Mjg and learn how to use it (it's pretty easy actually but if you can have some one help on the first time or two then it's super easy. If you don't have a friend who can help you get started, some LSSs are really happy to help their customers learn new techniques or use products. It helps their business to have you using more things and happy with your results.) and then you say "What took me so long to pick up one of these?!"

I use mine all the time, love it, but stamp with a few friends (two groups, yay!) who are wary of using it. They act like they don't mind that their stamped image lands where it lands, but that look on thier face....

I just recently started using my stamp-a-ma-jig and I will never stamp without it again. It is so simple to use and makes such a great difference in how your projects come out. Now my image is exactly where I want it to be everytime. A really great invention.

My Stampa-Ma-Jig is my favorite stamping tool. I am a perfectionist and like to stamp my images "exactly" where I think they should go. Also, if you use the Art Impressions "front and back" stamps, you really need a stamp positioner. I've owned a couple other positioners but really like this one.

I just got one and I LOVE it! I use it especially when I want to line up a repeating image (think: Eclectic Backgrounds etal), or when I want to place a word "just right." It's an amazing tool that everyone should have.

Smile Straight Titles NO stampamajig

Take a piece of scrapcardstock and draw a straight line on the paper and stamp your title. Make sure this paper is a little longer than the paper you will be stamping it on.

Now line this paper up underneath where you want the title to be use
your grid paper underneath your scrapbook page(or card front).

You should line your stamped image right underneath where you want it above the paper.

It is not perfection but it beats eyeballing and also the hassle of stampamajig. I get a really good looking title doing this. This method also works to cut down on mispelling as you are looking at what you want to stamp and then stamping it. (I am such a visual person I hope this makes some sense to someone)

If all else fails and you can't stamp straight....then stamp crooked on purpose...LOL I think Spencer said that on stage once at convention a few years ago.
