My friend's nephew is having a commitment ceremony with his boyfriend soon. She asked me to help make a card because she doesn't think she'll find a commercially made card for this.
Ideas? Nothing that says marriage or wedding, no bride, manly colors.

There is this set from Last year's catty... It all Adds Up. (I actually have a set I was going to sell) I always thought it'd be perfect for that use! it would take some masking... but it'd make a very sweet and somewhat masculine wedding card! But any bride/groom set would work if you masked off the bride and stamped the groom twice!
Otherwise I would suggest using sentiments like "love" or "congratulations" or "forever"... instead of wedding... and just make a simple formal card... Bells, rings, hearts... these are all genderless ceremonial symbols.
On pg 125 of new SU catty, top left sample, change it to blues or browns. The Baroque is nice looking and kinda formal, without looking girly or wedding like. Or even the one on pg 124, but switch out 'enjoy' for love, or congrats, or something like that. On pg 134, the blue one, swap out invite part with Love, cherish etc.
The Tres Chic bkgd on pg 136 could be a cool bkgd for a mens card.
Pg 143, the yellow card has a nice layout, maybe lose the flowers and add Vintage brads.
Just trying to help with some visual ideas! HTHs!
I did a card years ago for friends who had a commitment ceremony and I did a black and white card with some silver and it had 2 hearts entwined on it. I think you can be romantic without being too girly. You could also do one of the shirt cards that have been floating around lately with maybe a tux design? That might be cool too.
Post it when you finally do make it
Take any cute, forward-facing animal, stamp two side-by-side and put a little floating heart between them. See top left card for an example. I stamped "Happy Together" inside with SU's Happy Everything set. And honestly, most handmade cards I've seen would be appropriate.
I saw a cute card made once that used the clothesline concept with two pairs of boxer shorts hung from it. It was really cute! Definitely fun and lighthearted if that's the kind of card you might be interested in. Also, a bath towel image could work. Just thinking out loud here . . . .
What about something with the "SO VERY" set (loved) and with blues, browns and maybe some cream. I think it could be very masculine but loving (?) at the same time. Keep things crisp, clean, - very little frill, or scallops and I think it would be fine
Most people have better suggestions than I, but for words, I would recommend either the "forever" from Wonderful Words, or "cherish" from the baroque set.
I made a card that said "Congratulations" and had champagne glasses on it, and intertwined rings. No brides/grooms on it. "Forever" and "love" would also be good sentiments for this kind of card.
i've been to these ceremonies.. and a LOT of times.. one man is the bride. he wears a white tux, while the other wears a black tux. the white tux wearing one usually has a headband that is a veil as well. there were also always a lot of rainbows.
it's hard to make such a card for people you don't know.. i think you did a good job
