If you haven't already, check the "Anything but a Card" gallery:

There are so many good ideas that I can't decide!

I like the name frames - if you have not made them yet - they are cute and fun to do. I also like to make card sets (depending on who I am giving them to) and package them in those clear boxes or homemade boxes/bags.

There is a thread on here - regarding Christmas gift ideas. Check it out - there are quite a few (tons) ideas.

I made name frames for my 2 nieces and my nephew last year and they absolutely LOVED them. They were 10, 7, and 5 at the time.

I try to think of things I might like receiving. A gift card from a book store with a few homemade bookmarks is a nice gift.
The entire gift does not have to be homemade. You could add on to something you might purchase (at a discount/on sale). That could save you some money too.
But I do understand making a gift from scratch will save you the most $.

If you have kids that like crafts that you are looking for gifts for - how about a gift box with stamps, ink, and paper in it! You could make it like a Kit-To-Go. Have some stamping directions and project sheets in there too.

Test tube holders (fill the test tube with candy) is a nice idea.

Here is link to the idea by Lisa Somerville

Last year on here there was a thread about home made gifts for children, someone had made some great TIcTictoe games with stamps.

I like the idea of cookie ingredients in a jar. All the recipient have to do is mix it all up together. Plus you get to decorate the jar as you wish and print directions somewhere.
