Question Ideas for favors please....

Hi,
I volunteer with the Alzheimer Society here in St. John's. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year. Each May we have a walk-a-thon that we call Walk for Memories.

I'm counting on you lovely ladies to help me come up with some ideas of things I could make as a favor to give away at this event this year.

I have thought of a few but maybe you have another idea or have done something yourself similar. The forget-me-not is our logo. The colours are blue and yellow and of course silver for the 25th. It has to be cost effective since we are a not-for-profit organization. It must be also fairly simple to make since we need over 200.

This is what I've come up with:

Bookmark - paperclip, corner, regular rectangle
Lollipop covers
Matchbook cover with a mint inside
Water bottle labels
Candy bar wrappers

I'm sure there are tons of other things I could do but I can't think of any....

Can you help me please????

Thanks so much,
Gwen

perhaps if you can get some businesses to donate cases of bottled water, you could design a tag to hang off the bottle. I have done them for wine bottles and used a hole punch. Participants keep hydrated and have the tag as a favour.

HI
I just made favors for a baby shower. The favor was individual wrapped microwave popcorn. So, I cut paper ( 5 3/4 x 9") to cover the cellophane wrapped popcorn, made a 1 inch wide crimped belly band and punched a three part medallion and adhered with foam tape. The sentiment on the smallest medallion was Ready to Pop, with the due date below. I made 40 of these and did it assembly line style, cutting all the paper first etc, then just putting them together as the last step. It didn't take long at all. Maybe something like that would work.

How about paper fans? Nothing too elaborate, I was thinking 2 decorated circles (or any other shape) glued together with a Popsicle stick as a handle.

My daughter and I made 200 pillow boxes for her wedding, using the SU pillow box die. We used ScorTape as it holds like crazy. I knew ahead of time what she wanted so when valentine's candy was clearing out we bought 10 tubs of cinnamon hearts. I got bags of tiny ziplock bags at the dollar store and put about 25 candies in each pillow box.

You could stamp and punch out something to attach to the top. I admit that the cardstock cost more than anything else but my local craft store gave me a discount as we bought for her invitations too. Maybe your local store would donate supplies as part of their community involvement?

We were pleased with how they turned out. Using sale candy and dollar store bags helped out with the cost.

Refrigerator magnets? You can take the design from the bookmark covers you've already made and adhere them to those sheets of magnetic vent covers (from Home Depot or Ace Hardware)
