And they are really promoting Sizzix now. They have the pink and black Big Shot and lots of new dies. I bought the pop-up cake die with my 30%off coupon. They have a really cool looking house pop-up that is on my wish list.
For those who wish there was an Archiver's near you - e-mail them and request it! I know a lot of us from Dallas have done just that and supposedly we're on the short list for a new store once they begin expanding again (after the economy improves). I know we're starving for a good store here. Of course, we also will drive for a good store, which is funny as both Archiver's in Texas are at least 200 miles from me and they both get visits from Dallas shoppers!

We have an archivers, but I do try to stay out of the store as much as possible. BTW sorry to hijack here, but got the SU cake die (wonder if it's the same the OP talked about?). I am returning our Cake pop up die. I hated it! Took almost an hour to put together, and then the card would not close, and it really looked terrible. I was really dissappointed. Hopefully new pop ups will be better?
oh rats! I am demo'ing the pop up cake die at Big Shot club this month...was hoping that it would be a while before it came out in the stores since SU made such a big deal about "be the first to demo it before it comes out in the stores" or whatever it was. I have many ladies who frequent Archiver's (there's one less than 10 minutes from me) and they DO know how to use their 30% off coupons! lol! Jan

You might want to try it a little bit more before returning it.
I tried it last night and it didn't take me long, maybe 15 minutes? I didn't time myself but I'd be surprised if it took over 1/2 hour. I thought it was cool once I finished. Only problem I had is I couldn't find my sticky strip so I used my tape gun and it didn't hold real well.
You kind of have to force it shut and as you shut it, you create the folds on the strips (that you place around the cake) and that makes it easier to open and shut. I have seen many blogs doing fun things with it - like making it into a castle - etc. I think I will make a few with different themes and not fold it, so it looks nice just for display. I'm kind of glad you have to create the folds on the strips yourself so you do have that option of leaving it unfolded for table displays.
When I called DS to see if they would take it back (since I opened it up), the lady on the phone said it took her a really long time too - and that she really did not like it. I can't imagine putting it together in that short of time, (and I did think using DSP paper might make it better than CS -- which I used), and definately knew that my club girls would struggle, so that was my deciding factor. However, have not watched the tutorial video, and I guess there is one on the SU website.
