I think I'm too impatient!! I get all excited when I post something to sell and even MORE excited when I get like 50 emails WANTING what I'm selling, only to find that when I DO let the person who emailed me FIRST know that I will sell to her, it takes forever to hear BACK with the for sure "yes-I-really-want-it and here's-my-snail-mail-address-send-it-to-me-RIGHT-away!!" ARGH! I guess I'm way too impatient! I mean, I realize that not everyone is on this website 24/7, but... there are other's waiting too to try and purchase what you're advertising!! What is the proper ediquette for all this? I guess I've always been one to get stuff DONE right away and it's hard for me to WAIT!!!! (Lord, PLEASE give me more patience!!!!)
If I have something to sell, I will get it out to you in the NEXT day's mail, no if's and's or but's. That's just how I am. But I would like to know right away too if you want to go through with the transaction and if you DO, well then let's take care of it like... NOW... not in 3 or 4 days or whenever.
Okay... am I being too unrealistic? Are there others out there with any thoughts on this?
I appreciate your replies and I DO take constructive criticism well.
Thanks for your input on this!

Sally,
IMHO I don't think you're too unrealistic but I would give the person you're offering it too at least a couple hours to respond. Sometimes I'm on here for hours and other times I pop in and out all day long. I do check my personal email quite often though but that's just me. Good luck with the BST!
I think people should have the courtesy to respond in a timely fashion when they have indicated that they want to purchase something. Certainly, there will be times when it's not possible, but that is the exception, not the rule.
I think if someone has not responded within a reasonable amount of time (24 hours or whatever you feel is appropriate), send a gentle e-mail reminder that you need to hear within another 24 hours, and if not, you will contact the next person in line. I am sure there is a way to be diplomatic about it, and people should be understanding of the fact that you cannot 'hold' merchandise for an indefinite period.
I hear ya Lisa. I haven't done anything on this site, but a couple of others. I belong to a FreeCycle board in my area, and I hate when someone tries to interact then says "uh my computer was down."
I too always liked to take the first person to respond - even though I don't have to - but sometimes I think people try to post first so they have a shot at everything. It's a pain.
I had to laugh - my mom taught mt that saying,
Lord, give me patience RIGHT NOW.

I think an immediate response is unrealistic. We all have things going on in our lives that prohibit us from being online 24/7. To me, 24 hours is reasonable. However, if you need faster turnaround, you need to state that in your advertisement. The thing that really bugs me is when someone sends out an ISO and you respond and they never answer. Typically, I can't imagine that there are so many responses they can't acknowledge your offer. Oh well - we're all different!
You all are great... I really appreciate everyone's response to this.
I know if I ever need to know anything or have a question OR QUESTION something, I'll always get a straight arrow response from all you guys.
I hope I didn't sound rude about anything- I surely don't mean to come across that way.
THANK YOU ALL, again, for giving me your feedback.
I know that I'm guilty of sending out the ISO...and then not replying until days later!!! (sorry!)
Reasons why:
1) At work until late in the day -- reason why could be because of #2....
2) Kids / family - not able to get on the computer until after midnight when I should be working on a report for 8am meeting the next morning!
3) COMPUTER problems
4) SCS every so often doesn't 'go through' to my inbox (usually though, it's the galleries that I can't get through to, but several times it has been my inbox).
Apologies if you've sent me a pm/email and I didn't get back to you!!!
