Be honest. There is just SOMETHING wrong with this card isn't there? Can anyone give me an idea of what you think is wrong with it? I'm starting to think it is the bright reds I used in the watermelon next to the pinks in the CS. *sigh* I don't know......

That's what I was thinking. I think I am going to redo the watermelon in pinks and light reds...and use watercolor pencils instead of watercolor paint. I will have to rip it apart after the kids go to bed and see how it looks in the morning.

I also think that image doesn't necessarily go with the designer paper. I think you could keep the bright image but adhere it to a brighter, more fun designer paper.

I think the other way- the coloring is great, very vivid- just use BG that has more red and green in it, or maybe black polka dots to resemble the seeds.

I agree. I actually like the watermelon. It's the background I'd change. Also try to see if smaller print on the background would work.
I wrote you this good idea for your card and put it in your gallery instead of here - but basically I was saying the same things everyone else is suggesting.
I agree with changing the dp to match the watermelon more...also it seems to me that there is a bit too much white space around the watermelon. I would definitely add a shadow under the watermelon so it doesn't look like it's floating in the air. Maybe some sponging or dtp around the edges?

Thank you all for your suggestions! I am going to try it both way, changing the DP on one card and the watermelon on the other and see which looks better. I will put them both in that post...LOL I'm getting better at least I KNEW there was something not quite right about that card!
LOL Thanks again!

I love the DP colors, and think they are indicative of 'watermelon'. Really, the insides of a melon arent red, they are varied darker shades of pink. If it were me, I would use more softened shades for the melon, not change the paper.
imho,
Valerie

I revamped the Ladybug card! This looks much better. Thank you all so much for your suggestions!
Hi... I like the card... sorry I tried to view the first one and it had been removed... but this one is great and I REALLY like the way you display the actual stamps that you made the card with.... its great to see how individual stamps are put together for the WHOLE picture...
God bless
Nyoka

I tried to view the first card also, but it's gone. Looked at the revamped one and think it's great. It reminds me of stationery we made at a new catalog release party on Friday night.
