Thank you, thank you, thank you to Emilymomto3boys and some others who suggested only using these kind of tumbled tiles! Oh, my goodness!! What a difference they made! Not only do they look a bazillion times better, but they were easier to use the blender pens and pastels on and won't be eating up the blender pens! These are so much easier to layer colors onto, also!
I cannot wait to have my class make them on Friday! I was only going to have them make one (it's a gift and wrapping class where they are making 3 different gift items and 3 different kinds of wrapping), but I think I'll have some extra tiles on hand in case they want to make another one! They will either use the cardinal or the Christmas Rose from the Christmas Cardinal set!
Ooooh! I'm just jumping for joy at how good these look! I had to call my mom, just giggling w/how pleased I was! She didn't get it. bummer! So, I had to get on here, for I KNEW you'd understand!
Mwoi!!! <-- that was a BIG kiss to all of you that recommended BOTTICHINO tiles from Lowes!

Spammie, they are 4" square tumbled tiles you can purchase at Lowes or Home Depot. They come 9 in a box. Regular tumbled tiles, which I used to use, are more porous, having lots of holes in them. This kind, Bottichino, is smoother, but has the rougher edges that give 'character'.
Here's EllenH's tiles that I'm making in my class on Friday:

Can you please tell me what kind of ink you used to stamp your image with and did you seal them - if so, what with? I have a customer that stamped with Stazon and she said that some of them ran. I have not heard of this before. I thought Stazon was the best to use so that it wouldn't bleed. Thanks in advance for your answer. I will be seeing her tonight at our monthly workshop and would love to give her more info.
