When you buy the alphabet stamp sets do you always buy the number set too? I just bought the crayon fun alphabet set last month and I love it. I have had the crayon kids set for a long time and I just can't believe I waited so long to get the alphabet set. I just made a word book for my toddler and I just could not believe what a difference the matching letter stamps made on the pages. Now I'm trying to decide if I should get the number set before it's too late. I really didn't plan to buy it but now I can't decide. Do you like to buy both sets or do you find that you just don't use the number set that much? TIA. April
I'm not as picky about having the Numbers as I am about having both Upper & Lower case. I like the "ecclectic" look by mixing fonts on a page -- mixing fonts in a single word messes with my head though . . .
I have always bought the numbers and they have come in handy. But, then, I did A LOT of month pages in the baby books, one for each month. And I used the number stamps for them. "1 Month" "2 Months"
They also come in handy for dates. Would you use them in this capacity?

I always buy the number sets when I get the letter sets because I have one set that I did not do this for and it annoys me to no end to NOT have the numbers that match my alpha when I scrapbook!
It's nice to have the numbers that match, I try to do that, I'm trying to decide about the Contemporary set, I have the upper case, as a demo I wouldn't demonstrate with it.... but it would be nice to have for my personal use....mostly I'm hooked on the collage alph, nice numbers too!!!
I always buy the numbers when I but the alphabet set. I don't use the number sets as often as I do the alphabet sets, but like someone else mentioned earlier I hate not to have the full set. It's much more difficult to track these sets down after they retire. Another thing that I like about the numbers sets is that they often come with a few non-number characters such as stars and hearts. I believe the crayon numbers come with a star, which is a really handy stamp to have.
I always buy the numbers. I usually buy stamps in this order - lower case, numbers, then upper case. I use my upper case stamps the least.
Numbers are great to add the year to the bottom of the page. Also titles, like Ada's 85th birthday, Christmas 2001, etc.
I buy uppers, lowers, and the numbers. That being said, I don't have too many alphas. I cannot bear not matching when I want to. I can always to mixed font. I guess I just like the options. It sounds like you really like the crayon fun -- wouldn't you be more upset if you missed it?
I think that the number set would come in handy, but for me personally I don't have any number sets and have managed to do without so far. I also scrap "one month, two months, etc.." however I spell the number out since I don't have the numbers. Tough call since they are retiring the set though! I would say if your budget allows then get it so you won't be sorry later and have to go to ebay or somewhere else and possibly pay more for it! just my 2 cents
I think in this case that you would actually use the numbers. Because if you scrapbooked the school years, you would do 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd, grade, etc. Age 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. So, especially with THIS particulara alpha, I think you would have USE for it. Other than that, the other alphas I don't usually buy the numbers.
If they come out with a double alpha and numbers later, you can always ebay the retirees or sell or trade them. SU! sets like this hardly lose their value. I guess better be safe than sorry! It seems there is a high demand for the crayon sets lately.
I would highly reccomend the crayon numbers set. Included with the numbers are a star and heart that are just adorable. I make quick notecards with the flower (from Crayon Kids) and heart from the number set. I think they are really cute and fast!
I just wanted to tell you that the one time I didn't buy the numbers set before it retired (retro numbers), I ended up deciding to get it on here or ebay and it took me a looonnnnggg time to finally get it at a decent price and I was very sorry I hadn't bought it when it was still current! I would buy them now if you can afford them! They are very unique and will make great scrapbook pages! Good luck!

I agree with this! I like having the numbers match my ABC sets. I'm sad to see this particular ABC set retire because it is one of my all time favorites.
I was unsure at first if I should buy the numbers but everybody is right I will regret not buying these if I don't get them. I had not even thought about how great these would be to use on kids cards to put their age on it. Also I still have 3 kids to do school albums for and those will be great for those books. I worked in a preschool classroom before having my last child and I hope to go back again in a couple of years so I know I would get use out of them there too. I have also been thinking about making a counting book for my son. DD said the book I made looked like "Elmo letters" and now that I think about it they do. I am really sad to see these sets go. I would love if they came out with another crayon set.
Thanks for helping me make up my mind. April
I use my numbers a lot... I just got the numbers for my Alphabet fun and now they are retiring. Haven't used the numbers yet even!! Oh well, will have to trade that complete Alphabet set off and get a new one!!
Yep! I buy them both. Many times in my scrapbook pages I will include a year on the page by stamping it with my number stamps. (On another note, I'd like to see a new set in the new catty with some larger sized letters and numbers...

I don't scrapbook, so I didn't think that having matching number sets was important. Plus, I'm not a matchy-kind of person (I don't change my purse to go with my shoes!). I already had one set of numbers, so when they discontinued the Scritchy Scratchy alphabet (this was a few years ago), I decided to just buy the letters. I've been kicking myself ever since. Sometimes you just want the numbers that go with the letters. If you scrapbook, and if you do pages with date info, I think you'll want the matching numbers. Just my opinion.
