I feel like I have a piece of local stamping history!
Our local LSS stamp store closed on Saturday after 20 years and 4 different locations as her business grew. Make An Impression (Issaquah, WA) will be really missed but thank you Shirley for 20 great years of inspriration, service and ideas. Enjoy your retirement and grandchildren!
Anyway, I debated for a month on purchasing some of her shelves for my stamp room. On the day before she closed, I took the plunge for I just really wanted a piece of what got me started in the first place. I am so happy I did for now I almost feel like I am in her store. Her husband, over the years, custom made 90 of these! Aren't they cool? Now I feel like I have a little local piece of history in my own home. It makes me feel happy.
wow love the craft room x
well you do have a little history in those shelves and a story to tell with them - it all makes living with a bit of wood that much more interesting !
Holy cow...that's so cool! I am SO SERIOUSLY bummed that I won't get one last chance to visit the store. I'm headed over to Bellevue on the 13th for a week and it's too late! <sniff!> Last time I was over that way I trekked over to Redmond to hit Rubber Soul and found out I was a month or so too late for them, too...they'd closed that location. 'Spose that means I'm supposed to stick with Stampin' Up, lol?
Congratulations on getting your piece of rubber stamping Americana...
How wonderful to have a useful item with a wonderful memory attached. I too bought several shelves when one of my favorite stores Stamping Jazzy Style in Madison WI closed. Every time I look at them I remember all the wonderful people I met through that store. I miss the owner and the employees most of all. They were truly one of a kind!

They're gorgeous and you've given them a great new home where they'll clearly be loved and appreciated. Well done you and best wished to Shirley-may she enjoy her retirement knowing how much joy her shop must have given people over the years.
