OH, yeah. I HATE birds. When I was little we used to go to a pet shop to buy guinea pig food. I was just standing there one day and there was a horrible squawk that made me jump just about out of my skin. I turned around and there was a HUGE parrot behind me. He was just sitting on a limb, not in a cage or anything. I almost wet my pants and I did cry. I've been afraid of birds since then. But, I'm loving the owl stamps and those new birds by inkadinkado are SO cute!
I think Owls are timeless! "HOO" cares if it's a 'trend' for some of us? I expect that wonderful, versatile new Papertrey Owl set to arrive tomorrow, and I can't wait to use it! I have other owl stamps - some just cute and fun (Owl Buddies from A Muse is a great one), one from Crafty Secrets Book Lovers set that is quite 'vintage." Love 'em all!
I love all kinds of birds so I wondered about myself when I didn't get really thrilled over owls in particular!! I do have the Crafty Secrets book set with the wise fellow and the Inkadinkadoo Birds Galore set, because I like birds and books ! The SU set looks outdated to me so I was thinking, yes, I can pass this up. Then of course, along comes Papertrey with that cute set with all of the options. I'll be watching for the "bellies" to be in!
I'm with Julie, we have to go with what we like! And I really like the owls! My favorites are the Q.T. Hooty Owl from Pink Cat Studio and the owls from Sweet n' Sassy! So cute!
oooh me too!! i just got new owls in the mail today - the Unity kit of the month. oh my goodness, they are such cuties!!! i cannot wait to ink those babies up!!!
Years (probably 20+) I had my whole living room decorated with owls - umm I wonder if they are stashed in the basement--I loved the "cute" owls. I am not big on the stamps that look "real".

Disregard the fact that it's a trend. I'm not in to trends.
I'm in to what I likes! You be, too! If it's owls, then bring 'em on and love 'em up!
People tell me gingham, eyelets and scallops are so "out".
You'll hafta pry 'em outta' my dead, cold hands!
Those are fightin' words!!! I want citations for these claims!!! LOL
No way I'm giving up my gingham!!! It is timeless. Besides, I just figured out how to set eyelets, so I have to use up 7,000 of them before I will declare them "out"!!!!

Tell me if I was dreaming, but I remember seeing somewhere that SU will have an owl set in the new catty. I **think** I saw it mentioned on a blog about the SU cruise awhile back. I remember thinking that it looked adorable.
I love the Cornish Heritage Farms owl from the Kim Hughes collection. I haven't stamped with it yet, but by golly I have it!

Ordered the PTI owl set and have a few owls from Hero Arts. And I'm lovin' them. I also generally avoid the punny stuff, but for the owls and the bees, I'm making exceptions, LOL!
I have always said I was not a cartoony cutsie stamp lover but boy am I eating my words now. I just got the CHF owl and LOVE him. My Unity owl is on it's way. I lovey cutsie now!!!
Whooooo can resist owls? I certainly can't. I love them all. I'm partial to justjohanna's Odd Bird Planet owls, but also love the CHF owls and the Hero Arts one.

Joan, I'm rollin'! I had eyelets and setter tools for a year before I learned how to use 'em. But, once I did, I was smitten f'oh evaah!

Waaaaaaaaaaay back I collected owls - don't know why..just something about them. My favs aren't worth a dime but were from my dad 'just because'. He worked in the post office & loved stamps - one is a strip of really pretty old cancelled stamps he had laminated for a bookmark (both big readers); & a first day issue cancelled stamp with an owl in the artwork. Got rid of all but the very nicest pieces & my favs. I'm going to have to have some of the new owl sets 'just because'.

Whenever anyone mentions owls, I remember this ugly macrame thing my Mom had when I was growing up. But this new little set looks adorable!
I wasn't super crazy about frogs either, but Unfrogettable converted me!
My grandma had something like that! My mom on the other hand had this huge white owl made out of a chalk-like substance with yellow plastic eyes. Us kids finally had enough of it and took it out back for target practice!!
Location: prolly in my 'rubber room'... in the mid-west
