Maybe drying them with a heat gun straight away would help? I think the alcohol evaporates faster than water would dry, which would stop the peeling/buckling, so quick-drying ought to help.
The alcohol dries super quick, even faster when you blow on it...and it hardly warps paper at all (as long as you use it sparingly) and a tiny bit of paint, goes a very long way when mixed with alcohol...got a small spray bottle at WalMart like 9 months ago, filled it up and still have a half a bottle left...you have to shake it before you use it as the "glimmer" settles to the bottom of the bottle...but it's a small price to pay for that oh so gorgeous shimmer that we all love!!!!!! Hope this helps!!!!!!!!

Happy Stampin! God Bless!
Add a couple of beads(pony type) to the bottle to make shaking more effective!
I don't like to buy what I can get for "free" so I repurpose spray bottles.
Burt's Bees makes a hand sanitizer that comes in a small spray bottle so I use that. It is mostly alcohol so it's perfect for this.
I just pour mostly rubbing alcohol in and add some of SU's shimmer paints. If I want more glimmer I can add a little more paint, if I want less I add alcohol.
Right now I have three bottles one of each color but as I get more bottles I plan on experimenting with adding reinkers. I can't wait. My husband shakes his head at me as I'm always happy to share my hand sanitizer with anyone, even strangers.
It doesn't cause my papers to warp unless I use a whole lot, but it flatens out easily.
How much pearl ex powder and hairspray do you use? This sounds really interesting as I have hair spray I never use.....as well as pearl ex......

I used 91% rubbing alcohol and shimmer acrylic paint from walmart. Champaign acrylic paint makes a nice shimmer effect. (shake well before using) I am going to try gold and silver as well. I just pour mostly rubbing alcohol in and add shimmer paint. If I want more glimmer I can add a little more paint, if I want less I add alcohol.
I also spray the mist into the air and run my card through it...instead of spraying directly to the paper sometimes. Either way works like a charm and dries in seconds...literally.
I ordered some mini misters today (no way am I going to drive 20 minutes to a Christmas crazed Walmart - I live in a rural area so Walmart IS the place to shop for communities 100 miles around - lol) and some pearl. I have some GOOD gin..not wasting it on shimmer spray-hehe.
Thank you all for the advice, I can't wait to try it out! Maybe I can let my Glimmer mist settle then pour out most of the water and add rubbing alcohol or hairspray-hmm.
I also saved the tops off a couple of clean pizza boxes...Lay you paper in, spray into the air and move your box around to *catch* the falling mist...Much better than a direct hit!
PS...always save a drop or two of gin or vodka for yourself!

I do a lot of misting and I have a Ranger's mini mist bottle for all of the SU colors. For me the best is 70% alcohol - I buy it at the $1 store. The Ranger bottles don't clog and have a very fine mist spary. My OCD tendancies like to have all the bottle the same, labeled with the color, and I use the Ranger mini mist bottle holders so I can just grab and spritz when needed.
If you apply a heavy misting (my fav) all paper will warp (even watercolor paper). I just flip it over and smooch it down to flatten. Samples of heavy misting
I had to throw out 10 bottles of Glimmer Mist because, no matter what I tried, each and every single one of those bottles quit spraying. The tips clogged up. I was really irritated. I will have to try some of these methods although I don't drink. And if I did, it would be jack daniels so I don't guess that would work.

I also use either the ranger misters or sometimes the larger ones you can buy at Michaels (if I am making a big batch to use at a demo). Like I said, I use hairspray and have never had these clog up or spray in globs like the smooch does. I also use the pearl-ex and hairspray, but add a little gum arabic to the hairspray.
Alcohol huh? I've been using hot water and every water stream contortion I can muster and they have all failed. I'll have to try the alcohol. I guess the reason why ta etc doesn't use alcohol is because shipping becomes really difficult overseas.
I didn't have enough spray bottles, so I just mixed mine up and use a sponge to apply it. I get a more even coat and no splotches. Plus its easier to use the masks with a sponge and get the glimmer mist where I want it.
I got all the supplies to make my own in the mail yesterday! I was going to give it a go but the reinkers and paint were frozen. I hope they are ok after they thaw.
I might have read this someplace, but I thought I would share for anybody who hasn't seen it. I sprayed some of my glimmer mist (an actual store-bought one) into a plastic tray and used a small paintbrush to very lightly color in an image. I was using emerald mist on lavender paper, so it just gave it a tiny bit of shine and almost no color but without all the puddles and blotches. It looks pretty!
I just watched an older Heidi Swapp video on Glimmermist and she said to shake the bottles side to side, not up and down. The up and down shaking messes up the sprayers and if anyone is having this problem with bad sprayers to call Tattered Angels and they will replace the sprayer at no charge. This is from 2009 but maybe they will still honor it if anyone is having trouble with the sprayer.
