Hope this helps everyone who has had questions!! I no longer demo with my SU sets otherwise I would have kept them woodmounted. This is great for someone using their stamps for personal use. I can just imagine how easy it will be for me now to carry my stamp sets to a crop. I can fit an entire alphabet set in 1 CD case and I have over 25 alpha sets!!
Robyn - I saw your pictures and I am truly impressed - wow - all of those sets at your fingertips - i keep thinking about doing this since i'm just a hobby demo --it would certainly give me a space for A LOT MORE stamps!!
Thanks for the inspiration!

Ummmmmm, let me think about it.................. NO WAY!! That is going to be it for me for a long time!! I am going to try to not buy any new stamp sets until I use some of those that have sat there for years. Okay, this is crazy but out of all those stamp sets I probably have only used 100 of them!!! Over 200 were just bought or earned because I fell in love with them. Now, I am going to remember why I bought them, to use them!!!
Way to go. Thanks for emailing me the information about unmounting mine. I was really never a SU demo. I mean I was for exactly one year but still buy and use stamps. Well buy, meant to use but kept drifting to the newest thing going. Ya know! Anyway, last I counted I had 283 stamp sets. I have since order at least another 15 or so. I am definately going to do this now. I was afraid to because someone told me the value would decrease if I ever wanted to sell them. But honestly I don't want to sell them. I want to use them and have easier access to them.

I recently converted my halos sets over to ezmount and put them all in CD cases, what a chore, but it was worth it. I have about 120 set of stamps in CD cases and have not unmounted my woodies. I can't bring myself to do that.

Your welcome, Kymm. I almost didn't unmount quite a few of mine because of the value issue but I figure that I will use them now this way and if I ever want to trade them or sell them I'll just do it with someone else who is unmounted. I even unmounted my Scouts At Play! I will never get rid of that set, though.
Good luck unmounting yours. It's not that bad. I just would watch a movie every night and get about 20 sets done.
Where in heaven's name did you put them all when they were mounted!!!!?!!! That is some stack of stamps! Hope this system works better for you this way, sure looks impressive from a storage point of view!

I had them on 2 bookshelves. I also had them in categories but never could find what I was looking for. This has saved soooo much space. Now I am using those bookshelves for my scrapbooks & other fun stuff. I actually used to have close to 450 stamp sets but I got rid of a bunch this past year that were discontinued. Wish I would have saved them now!!!
Wow! I am also impressed. You have an amazing amount of energy for a women with 4.75 kids!! Good for you. can't wait to see what you create with your "new" sets.

That's 4.8!! I only have 7 1/2 weeks to go. Every 1/10th counts!!
I have created 2 cards already today. I've already uploaded one and I'm going to take a pic of the other in a minute. This darn pregnancy slows me down sometimes!! That is probably why I had the time to unmount all my stamps. Walking & cleaning are too tough but sitting on my rear is not!!

Thats so nifty, I love how you can save so much room and take them all with you, and get more stamps.
that scares me --afraid i would hurt the stamps. can't wrap my head around the idea--i too have over 300 sets.but my sweet DH made my own craft room 13x13 feet. with my design of storage. i also tole paint and dabble in a few other crafts.i even have a sewing machine and serger i don't even know how to thread-maybe during a big snow storm i will try--course that didn't happen last year--so maybe not.

Too funny! I think you've put that "hiney time" to good use, though
WOW Robyn, I commend you!! I know there is NO WAY this was an easy feat. I'm soooooooo jeleous. I soooo want to go unmounted but I chicken!!
Congrats on the baby.
Robyn!
WOW! Way to go! ...... I forget....I know I read it somewhere but what system did you decide to use? I am still on the fence about unmounting......could you email me some info on what you did etc when you have time?!

My inbox is full of PM's asking how to unmount. I would like to suggest doing a thread search for unmounting but I will also take some pictures of mine in a little bit. I do not use staz on on my ez mount. I do have an index, though. Very easy to use and fun. I need to feed my kids breakfast and then I will get on the ball.

Thanks Robyn! Forums at Splitcoaststampers
This is a thread I found where you (Robyn) talk a little about your system!

I have a quick question, What do you do if the stamp set is too big to fit in one cd case?
I put them in 2 CD cases and put #1 & #2 before the name of the set. I only had to do this with 20 sets out of my huge collection. I find that having them in 2 CD cases still takes up less room than the HUGE box they were in before with the big, heavy blocks.
Here's a little info. I'm going to take some pics in a little bit and I'll upload them of my stamps. That might make it easier......
First, I just peeled them off the foam and left the foam on the wood block. Then I added the rubber on EZ Mount foam and cut it out with a SU exacto knife. I got my mount from www.cornishheritagefarms.com, some on E-bay, and some from other sources. I got my CD's from Big Lots & Staples (make sure these are NOT the slim cases but the jewel ones), and I got my crates from Walmart for only $.97 each. I hope this info helps a little.
For the record I want to say that there is nothing wrong with woodmounted stamps but if you need a space savings solution this works! I really love using them this way now. I don't mind the woodmounted either.
Okay Robyn maybe its just me, but I cant get your pictures to go larger :(
It's not you. I couldn't get them to go larger either when I clicked on them. I've already resized them perm. on my computer. Mabye I can upload them again later.
