Oh dear! I can't say I've ever had that happen to me. Quite the opposite, to be honest. I cannot craft in chaos. But a neat, tidy room seems to get the creative juices flowing for me.
How about taking out some DSP or a stamp set or an embellishment and challenging yourself to make something with it. Generally once I get started, I just can't seem to stop.
I have the opposite problem. I go in to clean my room and as soon as my desk is clean(mind you, the rest of the room is a nightmare), it seems like I end up starting a project or playing with something that I found when I was cleaning. Kind of like a kid with a new toy.
Oh no!! I usually find mine when I clean. I say go with Kelly's idea and try a challenge. They always seem to help me get going when I have lost my mojo.
I was out shopping today (I think that will cure any case of the missing mojo!) and picked up the L Letterpress starter kit. I know what I will be doing tomorrow!!!!
All I have to do is let my room get so cluttered that I can't find it! The most amazing thing is I find it again when I am half done cleaning. I guess my room will never be fully cleaned.
okay Missy... turn your self right around and go make a mess... ;)
(emboss something... heat emboss it... even if it does not turn into a project) maybe making a mess and having fun will lure it back where it belongs??

That is so me. Or I have an additional problem. I knew where it was before I cleaned then I cannot remember where I put it.
I agree with most... find a challenge to try. Or maybe an altered project or gift? I have so many WorkInProgress folders that I never have this problem.... And up until very recently my area was never clean either! heehee
Teeheheee!!!! I believe that shopping will cure most anything, and if not, then you are not doing it right!! ;)
Great ideas about the challenges. Sometimes even the just the color challenge will get you started. Especially when they are colors that you would never pick a million years!!

Chuckle...I've had the same...once everything is cleared away it is too sterile...
I think I need a bunch of stuff on my table that I have to move around everytime I want to sit down and stamp...it must give me some inspiration in a weird way...
Oh no!! I cleaned my room last weekend too and have enjoyed creating since then- BUT as one poster suggested- I did go shopping and buy some new goodies. I think you need to reward your hard work by buying some new goodies. ;) Then leave them on your table so you can see them until you get to creating again.
Actually this just happened to me on Wednesday! Isn't that crazy!
I can't buy anything to get me jump-started either. My sister, niece and I are in a challenge to make 100 cards or layouts without buying anything new. I'm at 77. I shouldn't have cleaned my room! Wahhhh... You'd think that being so close to 100 would get my butt in my chair to start crafting, wouldn't you??
Every time a family member walks into the room, they say, "wow!" I guess I had let it get really bad. Crafting in chaos doesn't bother me at all.
I was thinking about pulling out a kit that I had found to work on that (for a mini album.) I can get a lot done in a short time and I wouldn't have to think too much. I'm hoping that will jump start things again.
To the OP, good luck! I hope you find something that will jump start things for you again.

I usually know it is time to clean when my DH walks into the room, looks around, shakes his head and without comment walks back out again. ( It is a pain cause my room is right off the living room, no doors so no way to hide it and ignore it.)
I moved into my new apartment two weeks ago and COMPLETELY cleaned, reorganized and rearranged all my stamping supplies, and the same thing happened to me!!!!
THEN, I was waiting for two new stamps to jump-start the mojo, and the mailperson delivered them to the wrong apartment and now can't find them... <sigh>

It happens to me every time I deep-clean my room. I don't know why because I really do like things to be neat and I can't think in chaos, either. Maybe you have to use the other side of your brain to clean??
Anyway, I generally browse through other people's projects that inspire me, and eventually something strikes a chord with me and I can get going.
Sorry about your mojo, but I had to chuckle at the title of your post!
Ditto! LOL!
I'm like most of the ladies here, a clean stamp desk always invites me while an untiday one repels me. So I'm sure you'll soon find something that you want to create
I hope you find your mojo soon. Sometimes I find that making a card with a really old set or unused set helps me get soem mojo back. When I get too set on challenges or posting for a design team, I sometimes lose my mojo.
Nancy, it has happened to most of us I'm sure. I did write an article titled tips for rekindling the artist in you; you might like to check it out here. Good luck; I'm sure your mojo will make it back to you, have heart
It must be that time of year, My mojo has taken a vacation for a couple weeks now. I'm going to force myself to do some challenges this week, hopefully it will spark things again. Hope you find yours soon too

Thanks Carol for the link to your article. I gave some very helpful hints - some of which I've done already!
I tried to do some letterpressing this morning using the new L Letterpress starter kit that I bought earlier this week.
My first few tries were very messy with poor results. I've been reading up on some of the pros and cons of this machine and what you can do to make it work, but it will take a little more effort from me. I'll post later with my results!
I do know what you mean. I spent the week between Christmas and New Years organizing, purging, and putting up shelves/rails/baskets...and it was SO clean and SO organized that it did take me a little while to convince myself to actually do something.
It was lovely, though, to actually do a project in a neat and tidy stamping space! (I don't work well in chaos either...and right now, that's what I've got! I need to buckle down and re-reorganize - or at least clean up the clutter!)
Take a little time, enjoy the fruits of your efforts and revel in the clean organization...the first time is the hardest...it does get easier! ;)
