Okay, call me what you want ::ducking::, but I bought some Martha Stewart items. I bought one package of designer paper, one set of stamps, and three sheets of 18x18 solid color paper and some vellum. Now I don't know what to make! I'm not the best card maker being fairly new at this and all but I couldn't help it. Sooooooooo...I'm going to try to make something for today's challenge.
Just call me...
SUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Peace!
Should I scan some of the paper so you can see??? Does anyone care??? LOL

Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
hahahaha...I felt all eyes on me as the displays were not done yet but they had it up there so I made sure I touched everything! Not to be mean but just to sample the merchandise...like touching fabric on clothes, ya know? I didn't get smacked in the hands..the poor teenage boy stocking stuff said he was tired of all the moving and the junk! LOL
Hmmm..I like it but I don't....the scanner doesn't do the paper justice. She has different types of patterns in different packages. Some are bright colors, some are the muted, soft colors. She also has packs of solid colors.
oh..okay, that last one was some of the solid colors. The first one seems really gray but it is actually a soft baby blue. What do you all think? She had some really nice paper but in truth, it's expensive...The 24 pack of paper was 10.99 (12x12). The vellum is smaller and it was 7.99. The two birds were 9.99. THey didn't have the ribbon out but they had some beautiful storage boxes (very expensive), markers, stamp ink, glitter glue, glitter, adhesive, stickers, punches, etc. Nothing that I could say "WOW" gotta have that but then again, here I am with my purchases! LOL
What do you all think? Don't worry if you hate it....::slinking out door::

She probably has a lot of legal bill to pay off. *DOH*:p
To rich for my blood. As a demo I have to be a little careful what I spend $$ on. I want to LOVE it if I can't demo it. So far I don't love it enough to give her more $$. Sorry

TFS, Miabel! I went by M's today. They had most of her stuff out. She has some very nice stuff! I loved these birdies! They're good sized not widdle at all. They're rubba, wood mounted and enclosed in pkging. I like to SEE the rubba and the cushion, etc. I didn't buy anything of hers, and, I may not ever. I'm still very put out over the coupon exclusion thingy. I use my coupon on a Marvy circle punch and my next coupon is reserved for an easel!
Ya'll have a blessed week, Stormy

I forgot to mention MS photo boxes are pretty.. but, holy cow - $20. The same type M's has been selling for reg. $10. and have been on sale half price. I HAD to look at those gigantic albums, either 18x18 or 20x20. No price on them yet, but someone on another thread said $80. They are solid fabric covered in her colors (looks like linen).
M's had a lot more K and Company.. and have extended their Wilton line (cake stuff). I didn't have long to look around but MAN.. it's SO NICE in there now!!!
Oh, just thot I'd mention, Martha's pegboard displays.. the back is brown w/ little Martha Stewart words written in circles all over it (I think the letters were lt blue or teal-ish).

Miabel, please don't shoot me!! I scrolled back up to look at your birdies again & thot I'd confirm that IRL they are light olive rubba! Your pics are very good.

Thank you so much. Someone said her stuff is a lot like Anna Griffin and I see that resemblance. Perfect for the vintage look that is so hot these days.
What do the top of her stamps look like? Are they colored? Tia
yuppers...boxes are great! But too much for me. THIS was too much for me, but hey, you only live once. If you could buy stuff with a coupon, that was really be great but I guess not! :(
Let's see what I come up with when I finish my project...my next spending spree will be in June when I buy my SU stuff!
I went looking today too. There was a lot of stuff that was not scrapbooking - cupcake holders and boxes, craft kits, huge tissue paper flower kits...
dd bought a gift for a friend that was so cute - a little paper bead necklace.
I loved the colors of the paper, but without a discount I did think they were expensive. However, the big rolls of vellum and specialty paper might be calling my name if they ever go on sale... I just don't have anywhere around here to get something similar.
I went today too. I thought everything was very pretty, but too pricey for me. All I got was one spool of ribbon. She has gorgeous ribbons and these awesome ribbon boxes, but the ribbon boxes were like $17 maybe. I don't see myself buying too much.

Yes, some of it will be great for vintage type cards, etc. But she has some really bold and bright patterns on some of her other paper. I was drawn more to the soft colors....I call them Martha Stewarty colors because the teal and brown remind me of her magazine covers that I see in the store. The stamps are not colored but they are big, sturdy and great quality. As of now, they only had leaves and birds out.
Tracy, NO we CAN NOT use M's coupons.. it's the same as w/ the Cricut stuff... It can not be used on Cricut products or Martha Stewart prods. It was already printed on last weeks coupon and her stuff wasn't even on the shelves yet! I do not think they'll ever let us.. they haven't for Cricut stuff even when Wal-Mart had Cricut prods waay cheaper.

I have to say that I was soooooooooooooooooooooooo disappointed in the Martha Goodies!:(
After all the spectulation and wondering what would be in the empty aisles, I'm not sure if I was setting myself up for disappointment. There wasn't anything that I thought I HAD to have - which, you'd know if you saw my craft room, for me is very rare!
(heavy sigh!)
Scrapbooking a dowdy business? That title alone makes me think the article isn't going to be very credible or unbiased.
I saw the M line. It's pretty much exactly what I expected. I did see one or two punches that I really liked. At $10, they were inline with the Marvy punch prices, but I do wish we could use coupons. Then the prices would be more reasonable.
Here is a card I made with the stuff....Please, don't hate the playah! Hate the game! Or should I say, don't hate the technique...hate the product??? LOL I did the best I could but I am still learning so please forgive any discrepancies. It was still fun to use.
You know, I went into our Michael's to see what all the buzz was about, and I don't understand it. They still have K & Co's stuff in there as well as some of the Jolee's stuff. The Martha Stewart line is really, really good. I loved it all. It is reasonably priced too. Her clear stamps start at $12.99 per set, and to me that is a really good deal. I will be going back to buy some when DH gets his paycheck, so now I can't wait!
