Pearl Ex needs something to "fix" it to the paper, H20's have the fixative in them, and you can actually paint it on to the image. Hope that helps! If you do a search, you should get lots of ideas and comparisons.... good luck

Twinkling H2O's are watercolors in cake form that have mica in them. Pearl Ex is powdered mica with no binder so you have to use something to get it to stick ex. versamark, future floor finish, fixative, gum arabic I really like both but I'm a huge fan of shimmery stuff. Twinkling H20's are a little more limited because they are a watercolor but I love the colors they are just beautiful. Pearl ex is fun because there are lots of fun techniques with it.
