Question How would you go about starting your OWN STAMP LINE??

I really can't find any info about starting your own Stamp Line. Does anyone know how to go about this?

I wonder if it would be best to start your own line or submit your work to another company....Any thoughts or ideas welcome!!

Default Research.....

Actually, I do not like to do research myself, but in this case, I think it would be wise to check on existing companies in your area.
#1 Are there any rubber stamp companies locally?
#2 Do they hire artists?
#3 If so, how do the pay? Flat fee or royalties?

Last year I had a long discussion with a stamp company owner here in Washington regarding the cost of producing stamps. She was selling out and I was "investigating." The cost of getting the metal die made for each sheet of stamps was extremely high in my view. But she had been in business for several years and was quite okay with the expenses. As with any new financial venture, it is a gamble. You never know what will sell until after you have put it out for sale.

You can find places that will make a master die for any designs you want I think the last time I checked they run about 80 dollars for the master... then you would then have to decide how many dies you want manufactured, how you plan to market them, etc...

A parent of one of my students started her own stamp company a couple years ago. All I know is that she draws her own designs and found a company locally that would produce the stamps from her drawings. I don't know how much it costs her.
