Default How to seal a wooden tray?

I just stamped Bloomin' Wonderful flowers on a off-white painted wooden tray (craft paint) & I used classic ink for the flowersl. I wanted my 3 year old daughter to use it for her tea set. It definitely needs sealing -- I was wondering if I could use elmer's school glue like you use instead of modge podge? What do you think would work? I think Crystal Effects would work but it'd take most of the bottle I think & that's kinda pricey. I also have Patricia Nimrock clear acrylic sealer - gloss - in a spray can. Would that work?
Thanks!

I use PVA or Mod Pode for my altered projects but at this point a clear sealer spray should work nicely. I wouldn't use mod podge now after using another adhesive. It makes to paper look "loosened" except where the adhesive is underneath..

I'd use polyeurothane if it were me!

I'd use something waterproof, as you'll probably want to at least wipe it off. Polyeurothane should work. There's another one that I've heard mentioned in another thread a few months ago, but don't remember the actual name for. I think it has glass in the title and you pour it on (and I think spread with a paint brush) and it creates a nice glassy finish that should be waterproof. I've seen it a Michael's and if I remember correctly, the smaller bottle (8oz, I think) runs about $8-10 (aka "a coupon item" to me). Haven't tried it but the stamper that suggested it raved about it.
