How many Christmas sets is too many?
I know I can't be the only on out there who thinks she has enough stamps already but just can't help buying more when I see all the cute cards on here. I already have at least 8 Christmas card sets (plus a TON more that I can work into Christmas cards). I'm just curious (and hoping to feel better about my spending:-) as to how many you have. I really do think I need a 12 step program...Ive even cut back on clothes and shoe shopping to buy more stamps....HUGE deal!!!!!
PS...bought 2 more stamp sets at my workshop today....*sigh*
Christmas cards are my favourite to make ... they are just so fun ... so I say that you can never have too many, as long as you are actually using all of them, or a combination of them! If they are just sitting there and you arent using them, THEN you too many. Good luck ... and let me know if you find a 12 step program, I'll join too!
i have a TONNE of amuse christmas stamps, and by a tonne I mean close to a hundred (probably).. then i have memory box, SU!, whipper snapper, and the list goes on. i, most likely, have close to 200 christmas stamps.. too many to use in one season, but i love them!

Is there a thing as too many? I bought two sets from SU (the cardinal set and the snowfuffy tree one) plus I bought a couple hero arts, and a couple other sets from other names and now am buying some Martha Steward punches. I cannot make the same card as I will go more insane than am I more likely and need to make many different cards. My co-workers expect them and are disappointed if they don't get them out to them. I also have have all the others ones from pevious years. Oh well. I guess they may be worse additions than what I have. (LOH)
I don't think there is such a thing as too many! (I hope not anyway, 'cause I'm in trouble if there is!) I probably already owned enough Christmas stamps to make cards for the next 10-15 years without ever having to buy a stamp. And yet, I just received an order with about 8 or so new ones...........

One can never have enough Christmas stamps! LOL. Don't let my husband hear that! I stopped counting a long time ago. I just can NOT resist those trees, snowmen, Santa's , elves, etc., etc., etc. I blame it on Christmas Fever! LOL. It strikes the same time every year. Ha ha ha!:-D

Rookie.
I'm not saying how many I have 'cause I don't want to know, but you've got a long way to go to catch up with me, LOL! I cut back on clothes and shoe shopping 8 years ago and my closet is in a sad state. But my craft room rocks!
No such thing as too many, there are just so many beautiful sets out there! I bought quite a few new ones this year and I actually went through my stash and sold a few older sets. It was like parting with beloved friends but the new ones needed their shelf space.

Uhm uhm *looks around* is there a limit?? dang if there is no one told me.. between those and my halloween stamps I am in DEEPPPPPPPPPPPPP doodle doo stuff if someone were to count *looks at bag of $1 stamps*
I only have 3 Christmas sets, and 2 of them I have used before so they will be going on ebay soon. I usually make the same card for everyone on our list each year, and since I don't like to repeat, I get rid of them. Since I do also make cards for the Cards for Heroes, I collect other Christmas images from Wish Rak.
I will never have enough stamps, Christmas or otherwise. I'm pretty much finished making my cards for this Christmas but just yesterday I was in Hobby Lobby and saw about 15 NEW Christmas stamps that I just have to have. Guess I'll be going back on the 15th to get those. Plus, there are at least 3 SU! Christmas sets that I have to get.
I'm a SU! demo and I know a lot of demos sell their sets when they retire, but not me. I'm all about possession. I was talking with a demo last night and now that she's moved more into "hobbyist" mode, she's regretting selling some of her sets. I did that ONCE and never again. I sold about 20 sets and I've bought between 7 and 10 of those sets again. The only retired sets I sell now are ones that I have multiples of.

Exactly what she said . I have 12, and that's not enough for me. I love Christmas cards!
it was good to find out that i am not alone in NOT making a duplicate card. i have now made more cards than people i send to. that means several go out to my "special" friends. i told that to one today and she said "YIPPEE" i love getting 3. not one is exactly the same.....some are similar, but tweaked so not identical. and it's only the beginning of Nov ! think of all the new ideas i will see and have to try. good thing we will be moving into our new house end of Dec...maybe packing will slow me down !
i am making 2 sets of general ( some thanks, birthday, get well etc) cards for two gifts and i used the same stamp on all cards but i had to emboss in different colors even though the cards were basically the same ! that must be a symptom of something.

Well, if all your Christmas card recepients have zero memories, you could get away with just one set and use it over and over.
But since that is unlikely, you probably have recepients like me, who have lllooonnngg memories. So I need fresh stamps for every year. Too bad I get so attached to my fresh stamps that every year I add new ones and never (and I do mean never) part with the older Christmas sets. They are like family to me.

Christmas sets
I haven't gotten into Christmas sets....yet. But I did OD over Halloween stamps! and I wasnt even going to send out Halloween cards...never did before......before I bought all those $1 and $2 stamps at Michaels and A C Moore.
Oh geez, is there such a thing as too many? I have billions and buy more EVERY year (despite, swearing not too!)
Don't mean to hijack...but OMG...you have a Keeshond, just like my KOBI......they are so rare up here in Ontario...I'm glad to see another one on here!!!!
I simply adore Christmas and winter themed stamps. So fo me....there is no limit!!! I know I'll add to my already extensive collection. Plus, I just love to collect snowmen stamps and sentiments...gave those stamps a workout last winter! Maybe that's why we had record snowfalls....ha, ha...
I have an easy answer to this question ... too many Christmas sets is EXACTLY one more Christmas set than I own at any given time. By my definition, I'll never have too many :p
Even though most of my Christmas stamps have yet to see ink, I refuse to think I have too many. There are great plans for them rattling around in my brain. It may take a while, but oh well!
