How many coloring crazes have we had? Help me count them over the years:
Prismacolor pencils with blenders
Chalks
Markers Zig and SU
Watercolor paints
Watercolor pencils
Watercolor crayons
Twinkling H20
Prismacolor pencils with gamsol
Pearl Ex with Luminere
AND NOW COPICS!!
I have to say the only thing I have not partaken is in the copics, and I dont see it happening any time soon. I just know I have most of the listed above due to SCS though, all the enablers here, LOL. I just was going through my drawer and just about laughed out loud when I thought of all the things I had bought because it was a trend I just had to try!
I tried everything on your list except twinkling h2o's.
My favorite mediums are copics and prismacolors with gamsol (or baby oil).
One more to add:
Pearl Ex with future floor wax
I agree with Krystie lee. Copics are just the best thing I have ever colored with. I can't figure out why so many people think they are so hard to use. My SU frayed out brush ends are what hard to use. They are pathic in comparison to the copic. The only think I use my SU markers for now mostly is coloring directly onto the rubber. Copics color everything from clear gemstones, to white brads, to primas, to clear buttons or white buttons. Talk about versatile. I can't live without them.

I got a set of Prismacolor pencils, but never use them anymore. I've found I much prefer coloring with markers.
I can't afford Copics, but have been so happy using the Bic Markits and Sharpies. The only problem with them is there are no really pale pastel colors. I did splurge with a coupon at Hobby Lobby and got several individual Copics in pale pastels to coordinate with my Bics and Sharpies.

I had Prismacolor pencils and watercolor paints long before stamping.
Watercolor Crayons are fun.
Chalks are good, but not for image coloring.
I tried but never really got into watercolor pencils, H2o's and really didn't like Lumeires.
I was never big on any marker until I found Copics.

How about Dr.Ph Martin inks? I seem to have a set of those too from some fad a few years ago. Used these right before getting most all of the Twinklin H2O's. Don't seem to be using them much anymore either. Mostly I use colored pencils or the SU Markers now. Oh, the money spent!
Oh and don't forget the Studio II markers from a few years ago. I'm more of a pencil gal myself. I love my watercolor pencils and my Prisma colored pencils. Haven't gotten into any of the markers.
There were also Radiant Pearls, which came before the Twinkling H20s...I think I've tried all of these crazes, but NONE have pleased me as much as the Copics! Have a beautiful set of Faber-Castell watercolor pencils I've never really used. Went through a phase of coloring/spritzing stamps with the Lyra watercolor crayons; don't use them anymore. Recently re-visited Prisma pencil coloring with Gamsol, and I'm enjoying it, but so very time-consuming. I hope I never regret the Copics because getting a workable/sizeable collection has been a huge expense.
Do you know how many LSS are stocking the Copics now? - some with Ciao style; some with Sketch, and their customers are flocking in to buy them to color their DIE CUTS! (Most are not stampers). This seems like such a waste of ink to me. Unless you stamp, collecting these expensive markers seems foolish, IMO.

I too had the Prismacolor pencils and watercolor paints long before stamping too. They are what I still use the most. I am sure I would love Copics too, but can't afford them.

Not necessarily coloring in, but another ink/paint trend:
Acrylic paint with foam stamps
What about using re-inkers & ink from an inkpad smooshed on the cover of an inkpad? That is still a popular technique, right? I'm just not sure if it's a craze.
This is a fun topic because I own all of the above mentioned products except the future flor wax. I somehow issed that one. After the expense of my Copics, I'm banned from any new coloring mediums!
Don't forget about the Shimmerz, I love using these to add a little sparkle to my images. I have pretty much all of the other coloring mediums mentioned as well. I love having the choice of what to color with.
I had most of my colouring mediums before stamping - the only ones I've bought since are better waterbased markers and H2Os.
I think I've seen people using alcohol inks for colouring, though I've never tried anything except general backgrounds with them.
Wow, I've got them all. No wonder I have no room for anything or no $. My favorite is the Twinkling H20's. I heard recently that they were discontinued, and now that they may not be. This site has been such an inspiration for me.......to spend $. Eileen

LuminArte, the maker of H2o's, announcd that they were closing and had (may still have?)a sale of 40% off everything. The latest is that they will remain open, due to the overwhelming response they received. I love the H2o's and their Radiant Rain sprays. I have all the colors of the RR's, which I purchased when they first came out. I prefer these to the Shimmer Mists. If you decide to order more of their product, be prepared to wait for shipment. I have seen a number of complaints posted on other threads and am still waiting for my order placed the middle of April.
Prismacolor pencils- 120+
Pebbles Chalks all four sets
Prismacolor pastels 48
Marvy markers- le plume + Dee Greuning = 120 (108 + 12)
Watercolor crayons- staedtler 12
Watercolor pencils- Derwent 48, Prismacolor 48
Peerless Watercolor sheets 40
Twinkling H20s 136
Prismacolor Markers- 72
Bics and Sharpies (36 and 24 in whichever order, I forget)
I love all of them! Each medium gives a different effect and I really enjoy playing with them all.
BTW- I would definitely disagree that chalks are not for images- it depends on the image. I use them sometimes for the detailed images like the Thomas Kinkade and the (no longer available) Susan Kuck stamps from CHF. You can see a TK example HERE and a Susan Kuck example HERE. I really love the soft way the images turn out with chalks.
So, I do not have a favorite technique- it depends how I want the picture to come out.
BTW- the only thing on the whole list that I ever paid full price for was the Peerless papers. Everything else was collected over time either with coupons or from ebay. Still a lot of money invested but less than half of retail. (The deal I got that included 48 of the prismacolor markers, the prismacolor chalks and the prismacolor watercolor pencils was $24.99 for all of them on ebay!!!!)
Radiant Pearls. Oh Molly I had forgotten about those. I had them too. Weren't they the ones that took days to dry? You really had to plan ahead with those things. When I first got into stamping I would emboss and then use acrylic paints right out of the jar.
Oh my, I have most of these and more.
Radiant Pearls, Peerless WC, Lumiere, Dr. Phil's Ink, SU Reinkers, Adirondack Reinkers, Derwent WC Pencils, Prismacolor WC Pencils, Derwent (Inktense Pencils, Graphitint Pencils, Colorsoft Pencils & Artist Color Pencils), 132 Prismacolor Pencils, Senelier Oil Pastels, tubes of watercolor paints, Twinks, Chalk, Rembrandt Pastels, unknown pastels, unknown oil pastels, Blick Pastels, Blick Color Pencils, Kooh I Noor Color Pencils, Fairy Mysts, Glimmer Mists, Stickles, MM acrylic paint, etc., etc. And I love and use all of them.

I would like to add:
Dee Gruenig's compressed sponges with tiny drops of re-inker
Tim Holtz alcohol inks on felt daubers
Metallic rub-ons -- a thick medium you rub on with your finger or dauber, looks like an assortment of watercolors in a plastic case
I'm not much of a colorer but I have given in to many trends over the years!

yikes! I have most of these in my stash. I must get them out and play. Seems the thing we need most right now are more images to color, lol....
Aah, a gal after my own heart. ;)
I've gone through many of those coloring crazes along with the rest of you, but I keep coming back to artist watercolors in tubes. Those will probably always be my favorites.
You can color/paint with Perfect Pearls, too, either dry or wet.
I haven't been stamping all that long, 3 years now? So I've missed most of the earlier fads. But I already had Prismacolor pencils from earlier art pursuits and am totally in love with them and my odorless mineral spirits. :p
I'll second the notion that we need more images to color (well, I do at least). LOL!
I used my SU! blender pens forever. I have used most of the others too. My favorite remains colored pencils and gamsol. I have one copic and love it, but they are sooooo expensive!
