I've been stamping for the last two hours and only have 6 cards finished. Granted they all have several layers and techniques, no CASE-ing. I just feel like I should have at least twice as many for the time I spent. I guess I was in slow mode or something today. ;)
My question is how many cards do you make at a sitting?
I don't even make one. I like to go back and forth between stamping and other tasks. I tend to lose track of time if I stay dedicated to a stamping session and don't do anything else.

It depends on what I'm working on. I have an on-going project -- I make and send sympathy cards for my church. When I'm making those cards, I make four cards at a time, which goes much faster than if I'm making four entirely different cards. I think you did very well doing six cards in two hours.
It took me about 40 minutes to finish my DH's birthday card, including making an envelope and finishing the inside with a sentiment, etc. That's with the stars aligned in the heavens, a card kit from DCWV, a rockin set of stamps, and the perfect ink pad. It often takes me much longer for "special occasion" cards.
It depends who I'm making cards for and if they are all the same. If they are all teh same I cam make about 10 in 1-2 hours. If it is a special card it could take me 30-45 min to make jsut one. I think you did good making 6 cards, especially if they all came out nice
Wow thanks!! I usually am working on multiples of cards ( at least 20) at a time.
I haven't had time to sit and "create" for a while!!! I guess I did ok for myself.
So how many cards do you make a week?
I do one card about 2o times.
6 original designs, layered, and with some form of technique beyond basic ink to paper, all within a 2 hour time frame, really isn't anything to sneeze at! ;)
On average, each of your original designs consumed 20 minutes. I tip my hat!

Dang! I'm impressed at your "time" actually! It can take me that long to just design one card! ha ha ... Seriously - I think that is REALLY good since you designed and created! Pat yourself on the back my friend!
It's the design process that usually takes the longest for me......60 to 90 minutes depending on how involved the card is. But to replicate it (again depending on how long it takes to color) 20 to 40 minutes each is about average for me.

Ha...you're so funny...6 cards in 2 hours only in my dreams!! Even if I am casing I really doubt I could do that! I have been sitting here for the last 3 hours and all I have done is stamped a name for my lunch box tin! I can't stop looking at everyone else's creations!!!!

Ditto! The designing is the longest part...to do that 6 times and then complete all 6 cards is quite an accomplishment!
well, let me stand and applaud! I can spend a day on 3 cards- so 6 card with layers, techniques and no case-ing sounds pretty productive to me! Are you posting these cards to your gallery????
Gosh! I don't think I have ever made 6 cards in one sitting apart from VSN. It always takes me at least 60 minutes, if not more, to make a card, but I very rarely make the same card twice.
Most of my cards take about an hour each. That's including planning and multiple layering with embellishments. I don't approach stamping as a "gotta hurry and finish" thing, but more of a relaxation so time is not of essence when I sit down to stamp. I'm impressed with 6 in 2 hours
Phew! I'm feeling better with each post. I can spend what seems to be a whole evening and only have one done. Some nights I sit down and an hour later I realize that nothing is coming together for me at all. The worst is the few (thankfully!) times that I've messed up the last step in a way I can't figure out how to fix. However...I'm getting better at fixing/covering up/cutting out etc mistakes...
I think you did great! One thing you might want to consider is once you are happy with the design, make at least one more of each, maybe two. That way, you have one to send and one to keep for future reference. If you're like me, I always end up with a card I like then I forget how I did it, so I try to make duplicates so I can make it again without much time or trouble.
I'm with most of you - coming up with the just right design can take several hours for me.
I was thinking that when I started stamping I could do a bunch in an hour. I thought they were great, but I was delusional. There was a lot less pressure for them to live up to a certain standard. I compare myself too much to the experts here at SCS.

Glad to know I'm not alone. It takes me awhile to do the cutting and layering and such. I must admit I CASE a lot of cards from here on SCS. Don't know what I'd do without this site!
For me it depends my mood, and who is home or with me! I always make atleast 2 cards, so if I really love it, I can still give it away. I am in a Card Swap at Church, and I started one with friends & co-workers, so I always make 12 of each card for those.... Last night I made 12 Big Buckle cards.. I LOVE THEM! Honestly, making cards with a little assembly line is so much faster then making 4 complete different cards.... I have learned to love it.
