I have this stamp, love it, but mostly use it for tone on tone stuff. Are there some interesting combinations of cardstock and ink colours that you particularly like? I would love to hear how you use this stamp!
I have also used it for the kissing techniques with simple shapes, and I used it with copper ink and clear EP to make faux mesh- Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
hope the link works- the colors look much better in real life than in scan!
I have seen it used with the kiss technique too. You ink up a solid kind of stamp with ink and then ink up the canvas with another color and stamp the canvas stamp on the first stamp. Cami has an awesome card using this technique. I'll try to attach a picture.
I do tend to use Canvas as a tone on tone stamp, but the other day I meant to ink olive on olive card stock and grabbed garden green ink by mistake. I thought it looked great. All week I've been stamping garden green on olive paper. Okay, not that far off tone on tone, I guess.
I also use it with either cocoa, caramel or grey on other colours. Cocoa on sage was nice, as was caramel on banana.
Let us know what you come up with.

Britta posted a card a while back with the canvas stamp using glossy, versamark and chalk ink. I've used the technique and it looks awesome! People don't believe that it's stamped and not a background paper.
You stamp the glossy with the canvas stamp inked in versamark, then daub all over the image with the chalk ink, blending the colours as much as you like. Brayer over the glossy to smooth out your colours, rub with a tissue to get the extra ink off of the canvas image and you're done. Britta went one step further and embossed clear flowers over the entire image and it was wowza!!

My friend made a new card for the Summer Mini BBQ set and stamped canvas in Real Red on white. It is bright and fresh and works great with that set. I can imagine a similar effect with bright orange or yellow or green with a floral set.
Stamp you images, then stamp the Canvas over them in a complimentary color. Sponges the edges of your cardstock with the same color and you have an instantly vintage look!
I made this card by inking up the Canvas stamp, stamping directly on it using the flower and leaf from Paint Prints, then stamping it on the CS. It looks a bit like cross-stitch.

I like stamping a darker Canvas on a coordinating lighter cardstock. Such as Close to Cocoa on Creamy Caramel, Pink Passion on Mauve Mist, etc. Makes a really nice contrast.
