Default HOW do you flatten CS that has been wet, and dried??

ok, so I love watercoloring! but the thing that drives me nuts about it is that once the paper gets wet it never dries flat! so I have this beautiful piece of CS, but it won't stay stuck to a card w/o eyelets or something (ie. mono just won't cut it!). how can I flatten my wet CS??

I really had a problem with the foxi-oxi technique. it's so fun! but if I could only have flat paper again when it was done I'd do it a lot more.

please share your wisdom
thanks
Michelle

I read somewhere that if you dried both sides of the paper, it would help it to stay flat. I tried that this morning after doing a little foxy oxi and it didn't seem to help.

I'd be interested in what others are doing to keep their paper flat, as well!

I tried the iron thing last night (on my watercolor piece) and it seemed to help a little. My double-stick tape looks like it's holding up well so far!

It's been a while since I used the iron on my stampin work, and I think we just put it on a really low setting and then placed another peice of paper over it - or maybe it was a towel.. .. Hmmm, now I can remember! :? I'd like to know what other think also.

I put it on med. heat and directly iron the paper while it's still wet. I wouldn't iron it on med. heat if it was dry, tho--might burn the paper. Also depends on your iron, too.

I would put a cloth, not another sheet of paper, on top of the damp cardstock -- I'd never apply a heated iron directly to paper! And I'm sure it goes without saying to turn off the steam!

Do all your papers need to be flattened? It seems like to much work for me if I have to "iron" the paper every time!

I, too, iron my paper while it's still wet. If it dries out before I get to the iron, I mist the back side to dampen it and iron it flat. I never have a problem! And most of the time, I don't need to iron it anyway.

I should say also, that I make a point to do my watercoloring on the confetti papers. They hold up to the water much better! I'm curious--Has anyone else tried with the confetti and had good luck?

Default iron...

Has anyone seen the dvd by Tim Holtz "An Altered Journey"? He uses a craft iron directly to the paper without steam but says you can just use your regular iron but make sure to clean it....imagine a little pink passion ink on one of your hubby's work shirts? And if you haven't seen the dvd, I HIGHLY recommend it!! I have watched it at least 5 times now(got it last week from Amazon thru here...hope scs gets some credit for that?)and it is so cool!! Michaelann

I keep old phone books around for flattening curly cardstock. Ironing is fine if the image isn't heat embossed. Linda
