I'm new here to this place and am suddenly feeling foolish and wondering if I've ended up somewhere I shouldn't be. Is this a Stampin Up group only? I've seen mention of other stamps, but mostly "SU". I love this place I'm in with so much inspiration goin' on here and want to stay, but don't want to be posting things I shouldn't. How do I find an SU dealer in my area? I do know that you can only buy from dealers (or at least that was how it was "last I knew"), but how do you find one?
hi and welcome! Its true that most stamps here are SU, but you will also see plenty from Close to My Heart, the Angel Company, and even the Dollar stamps from Micheals and JoAnne's. Lots of others, too, like the member companies who's banners you will see on the pages, and who have thier own forums here--they have some great and amazing stamps and other products. Don't worry about posting any creations with other stamps or mentioning good deals you find elswhere. Now, as for your main question, how to find and SU demo, sorry, that's the one I cant help with! But I am sure that just by asking, you will get some responses from some admirable demos who will be willing to help you get your fingers all inky! Again, welcome!
Thanks so much for all the help. I did not realize the catalog was online. (how dumb I'm feeling right now). I'll check it out and you will probably soon be seeing some SU stuff from me.

Welcome to SCS. There is plenty here for people who love to stamp, both with and without SU products!

Just in case you don't know - you can't order directly from the catalog. You need to find a demo in your area and order from them.

I saw the title of this thread and was thinking "Yeah, I would consider my demo a 'dealer' too!" JK...Good luck on finding a demo =)
I happen to be a demonstrator myself, but sometimes I do feel like the corner dealer- hey lady come see what I've got, try it, you'll like it!

LOL!
"yeah, lady, come on over I'll show you the latest shipment of rubber and the new chunky gliter -- it's the good stuff! I'll even let you sniff the stazon pad for free!"
The husband of my "best" customer refers to me as his wife's dealer, lol!
Welcome to Splitcoast, freezeframe! Take your time looking around...feel free to post questions. There's always somebody popping in that knows the answer.
And do check with stampinup.com. The demo locater has you plug in your zip code and then throws up a few demo names. If you scroll down the page a bit more, there's a button to click to get more demo names; that should get you plenty of demos close to you!
Welcome FreezFrame! Hope you find a demo, there are plenty of us right here on Splitcoast and one might be from your area! And yep, I do feel like a dealer -I do believe I have had some of customers husbands refer to me that way - LOL! Good luck with finding a demo! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex

Diane:
I think you and I have BOTH been sniffing too much of our stuff!!!
I think it's funny to be referred to as a dealer, but I do sometimes feel that way... just yesterday I was buttering up a customer who was coming to my scrapbook class. "Get your fingers warmed up for scrapbook class tonight. You're gonna love what I'm going to do with glitter."

If you have a look in the wonderful gallery you will see that lots of people dont use only Stampin Up....in fact I currently dont have any Stampin UP stamps but that is because Stampin Up is only just starting here in the UK!

Would you like to smoke or snort your SU! Thank you so much for that, I needed that so badly this dreary demo morning when I know my order is not out for delivery, but I could walk to the plant and pick it up!
LOL! Don't feel foolish at all. And you will find all sorts stamps and art projects. Magnolia, Gina K Designs, Elzybell's,.....Bellas. Check the member companies galleries too.
hahaha well, happy to help keep a sense of humor alive and well. Thanks for everyone's messages public and pm and I think I have decided on who will be my new SU "dealer" and she isn't anywhere near my area, but I decided to do business with a demo that responded (among several) to my wrongly-worded post. Stamp happy all!

Not at all! That was more accurate than you know......but then you should have been bombarded with pm's by now. Good Luck!
