So seriously, I have been in my stamping zone for about 3 hours, made 4 cards, and only like 1. I need someone to tell me if it is time to sell the stash and take up crocheting. Very aggravated tonight. All 3 that I put in my gallery have the same ribbon, it is like I want to use the ribbon, but this is all I ever come up with.
This one I didn't finish, it isn't right, I know, but I don't know what to do about it. Help!!!
I love how you created the background. I think the ribbon is o.k. The one thing you might consider is stamping the flowers on Whisper White or some other neutral color with your colored ink. If you have the White or Vanilla Craft pads, stamping them on colored cardstock is a nice visual. I would also limit the number of flowers to 3 and group them together in the upper right-hand corner. Using different colors for each flower gives them visual appeal also.
Thanks for being brave and posting your card to the world!
Everyone, even the most seasoned stampers, has "off" days where nothing seems to work. I've even seen JulieHRR post that she was getting totally frustrated with a technique! ;)
This card definitely has potential, and with a few tweaks it could be super-cute! Really all I think it lacks is focus. A focal point is crucial, so that the elements aren't competing with each other. Try adding a wide strip of navy cs (torn edge or straight, whichever you prefer) to create sort of a spine down the left side, and maybe using a narrower ribbon in a contrasting color or even leaving it off altogether if it doesn't have a reason to be there. To me it seems like the sentiment is getting lost against the argyle pattern because it is in the same color. Maybe stamp it on a solid color and put a layer behind it? Then you could take one or two of the smaller flowers and mount them around the sentiment, overlapping it just a bit. I don't think you need them all.
Don't give up!

Hmmmm...... I think maybe a few more flowers, but use blue to match the background. It seems a bit stark (?) with the all blue BG and all pink flowers. Just a thought.
Thanks, guys, I gave up with this one.....gonna pick it apart, frankenstein out the parts, and start over another night.
You are so funny!! I love the way you think. I can't tell you the number of hours I've spent trying to make a card and then junking it. I'm sure that's what drove Van Gogh to cut off his ear. So, settle down and don't be so hard on yourself!!!

Not sure I like the colors together, but Judy, don't give up!! When I get frustrated, I go to the gallery, find a card I like, and totally copy it! Sometimes I branch out and change a few things. I'm one of those folks who copies well, but let's just say I'm NOT a Michelle Laycock. For some reason I just can't come up with "new" ideas that don't look like a fourth grader made them! Use your resources - gallery, catty, color wheel. And I'm sure you're like most of us - your own worst critic. Stamping is all about the art, the therapy, the fun. The product is just a bonus.

Can't tell you the number of times I've done just this! When I start getting frustrated now, I've learned to walk away from my craft room, fold some laundry, play with the kids, etc. Then, I get an idea, run back, and jump right into it!
I love the background...what about putting the flowers on a layered piece or a tag to kind of anchor it together? If I'm stuck, I usually pick a layout from the sketch challenges and work from there.
I like it's start, but it just hasn't come together, know what I mean? And hey we all have those cards. I like the background, I like the Flowers, the sentiment is fine. The Ribbon is just not quite right, maybe a different color? But I don't have a suggestion for a different color, maybe Cream of white. Or my other idea is more Flowers, maybe one more Big Flower and a lot more little ones in scatter and layer? And/or add a layer over the background before putting on the Flowers, this extra layer could even be in the same background, maybe a different shade of blue? Dimension is always good.
