Not sure that I should admit I once bid over $70 for a stamp..........didnt win it though, it went to near $80. I dont even remember what the name of it was now, it was a hostess special from one of the supplements years ago. I had a serious ebay problem, my husband was not pleased!
The bidding started at 6.99. I have bought from that seller and she was pretty good. Of course I didn't pay that much. Her shipping was reasonable too for sending things to Canada.
Well, if you can get that price, I don't blame her........
Is anyone familiar with a stamp from around 1993 by SU that depicts a character (very similar to the cartoon "Cathy"), sitting at a desk under a pile of work and the caption reads "How Come There's Never A Weekend Around When You Need One?" (or something very close to that)???
Did SU once sell their stamps already mounted?
I received this one in PRISTINE condition and it's marked and dated by SU--I was just wondering if this is collectible as it has never been used and I haven't seen one similar.
Not sure I'd pay $66 for ANY stamp though. I once paid an obscene amount of money for cheese and olive oil, but I still have those on my hips for sentimental value.
Wow, that's pretty impressive. No doubt in my mind I could never drop that much cash on a stamp.
Wonder if anyone knows what type of poetry that is. Sure looks pretty but I'd be afraid to put that on a card not knowing what it said!
I emailed SU once to see what the translation was and finally about a week later they emailed me back to say that it doesn't have a translation, it was only a textile design.
I'm sure those symbols have to mean something though!!

It was sold on ebay a few weeks ago... Set of 8 stamps... Working Women
that is ridiculous...if you go to advanced search and type in asian poetry, completed listings you can see how much they have been going for...
take a look at this, the same thing sold on Aug 5th for only 19.50...
so I say the seller was ignorant on this to list it with a buy it now for so cheap, or the bidder on the other one is insane for not waiting for a cheaper one!
