I look at my card and think, "That's just not nice enough to waste a lovely piece of Hodgepodge on!"
It took nearly a year for me to actually put those cute shrinky-dink charms on cards. (SU! discontinuing the stuff didn't help, either.) I guess my Hodgepodge is the next hurdle.

I used some of the hodgepodge on my daughters birthday card. I tried it on other cards, then I took it off and put it back in the box! I guess my daughter was the only one "worthy" at the time. I will try to use it more often. I didn't realize I was a "hoarder of hodgepodge"! I thought I only hoarded basic grey paper! I will try to be better! Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
I do hoard my hodgepodge. I take it out to look at it but I can't bring myself to use it for cards. I thought I would use it more for scrapbooking, but I still have not used it for that either. I really have got to force myself to use it.

I just got a set for Christmas. I have used the clips on cards, but I'm sure I'll be saving everything else for scrapbooks. I would just *die* if I knew someone trashed a card that had hardware on it!!!!!

I think this sums it up for me!! I just don't think anyone (other than fellow SCSer's) will appreciate them as much as me!!
a.k.a. Hodgepodge Hardware Kit. Found in S.U. catalogs. A kit of 100+ pieces of brass, copper etc to use as embellishments on cards and scrapbook pages.
Really cute items, but so hard to part with.
I don't own one but if I did, I'd be a major hoarder expect on cards for my parents & DH. My parents don't trash my cards & DH's cards come back to me ultimately, LOL!!

P.S : Infact it is quite hard for me to use eyelets on a card that I know is going to trash!!

I just got mine last week after drooling over it for 6 months... that and the wwc came in the same day. I open both tins, look at them, smile to myself, then put them back in their place.... I haven't even taken the crayons out of their box at all! I did take a few pieces of the hardware out, just to feel the weight of it.... Guess since it's a snow day here again I might just break both of them out to make a card! (Which will probably end up on my display board and not used!)

I think everyone should offer this suggestion to SU. I have several times. This and the designer papers. I rarely if ever use them to demo because of the cost. If we could buy just one item in quantity it would be beneficial to all of us!
For me there are only three different things that I like to use from the kit. I don't want to use up all the pieces I love and then order another one and those other pieces are still there and kits keep piling up. But yes Im a hoarder.
I hoard it too! I use it on my scrapbook pages, but hoard it on my cards. I guess its something about the person receiving the card throwing it out. I do need help with this sickness. ;)
I'm a big hoarder too!!!! Unless the card is going to another stampin addict or my mom I am hard pressed to use it. I'll pull it out and place it on and think that would look nice, but then I put it away again. It really is a sickness , you guys are right!! And very funny too!!! Well lets hope there is help out there for us! At least we are not alone!!!

I do own it, but haven't used a single piece so far for just that refill reason. First rule: No cards. Second rule: Only really special scrapbooks. Gotta change second rule to just read "Scrapbooks only!"
Really, though... I just know I'm gonna use some pieces more than others, and end up with half a box of leftovers that take more time to use up. Then I can't order just a refill on the pieces I do use, and it seems a waste of money to buy another box when I've still got half a box unused.
We need a 12-step program.

I don't have a problem w/ the price but it's taken me like 6 months to start really using it!! LOL - only special ppl get anything made using HP - I couldn't waste such cute embellishments on just everybody ;)
Ok, I'll admit that I'm a HHH (hodgepodge hardware hoarder). In the months that I've had it I've used ONE piece!! Yes, I've taken it out more and looked at it but then just put it back
The one piece I did use I used on a wooden tray that had a stamped insert piece in it (under glass) so I *knew* that it wouldn't get thrown away!
Ok Hoarders! In case you missed it...this week's ways to use it challenge is to USE your hardware. Play along at the link on my signature. You can also get lots of great ideas from all the cards already posted.
Now, if they sold refills for the different pieces, I would buy and use the kit.
I own one full kit, and both others I split, so I have all 3 colors, and am very particular when I use them. Refills would be GREAT!! Never will happen, though. :
I've only used Hodgepodge on 1 card so far, a Christmas card that went to a fellow SU addict. Otherwise I've used it for scrapbooking, and I have no problem doing this, except I never have time to scrapbook anymore because we're remodeling our house. So my hodgepodge hardware isn't seeing very much daylight right now.

So far 1 set & it will be used on cards for very special people & scrapbook pages I'm planning. If I wanted something similar for a swap, I'd use similar pieces from Joann's/Target/office supply store.

What we need to do is have a HodgePodge forum, specifically for swapping our "leftovers". Everyone posts the pieces they don't use, and can swap with someone who uses them but not the pieces you want! Keep it out of the regular BST forum for ease of swapping LOL! Ok, I know I'll never use the biggest bookplates, anyone wanna trade for buckles??

I have never used it on a card, I have used in in scrapbooking, but, I would never ever use it at a workshop...the cost!
I always point it out in the catty, but, that is it...
So bad!
Just wanted to say that I bought my first hodgepodge because my demo had us use it at a stamp camp. I have another coming in my next order. The extra cost might make some sales.

I think I'm going to do a camp next month and add the hardware to the mix... a great way to get sales up there for SAB too!
