I woke up this morning after an absolutely awesome progressive dinner party, and had an idea in my head for a thank you card for each of the hostesses. Went downstairs (no one else was up!) and just could not make it look like it did in my head. I hate it when that happens. The die was a *little* too small, the stamp a *little* too big. You know how it goes. ERRRRR!

Yes, I do!! Let me encourage you to just keep on fiddling and trying different combinations and layouts. Usually when I do that, I'm able to come up with a card that surprises and pleases me! DON'T GIVE UP!

Happens a lot with me also. At those times I wish that I had one of those Star Trek holodecks and replicators that you could tell it what you wanted and it would appear, just like you imangine it! lol!
How about using your ideas and pieces to make progressive thank yous? Like a meal, some portions small, some portions large, something for the main course, etc.
I find that I waste a lot of paper trying to create something in my head that just doesn't work in real life. So I use digital card making software to get the design down before I start assembling the card, but even that doesn't always work. It makes me wonder if perhaps Picasso's paintings were not really a reflection of what he saw in his head, lol.
