Yah my hubby thinks its silly too. But he thinks it's even more silly that we can be as addicted to stamping as we are. I try to compare it to his hunting but he just doesn't get it.
Just to fill you all in... Us comittee members meet on Weds night at my place to get things rolling for the gathering. My hubby was home and of course made the comment to us "wow - it's like an AAA meeting only for stampers". THan Terri replied "ya, but we're not trying to quit!" ROFL
So I lied...the 1st thing I would buy is the stuff on my SU! Mini wish list!
Heck....I'll just buy it ALLL! And I'd expidite Shipping too!! OOOHHHH
Maybe I'll buy a house within a few miles of the SU! distribution center ...than I can just drive there to pick up my order and don't have to worry about waiting for the UPS guy....unless he's cute (just kidding)
Anyone else have a hubby gone HUNTING for the weekend? Hunters are soooo pathetic..... "gonna get a big one this year babe".... ya, that's what he's said for 5 years in a row now and I haven't seen a big one yet!!!!
My hubby left this morning to go hunting too! The good thing is that I'll get to stamp all weekend (woohoo), so I can't complain!
I'm coveting most of the sets in the mini also..just have to decide what I HAVE to HAVE first! Once everyone starts posting their creations from the new sets, I know that I'll want all of them! Darn creative people!
For those of you making a sample board for the get together, how big are you making them, and what are you using to make them? I just don't want to show up with a gigantic board and have everyone else bring a small conservative one! So...spill the beans!
Tami, you come with as gigantic of a board as you want! LOL! I am using one of those cardboard display boards from Michaels. I have glued clothespins on them with tacky glue to attach the cards. It holds 32 cards. I may bring one or two of them for display purposes. The more the merrier! We all love ideas.

Sorry to be a serious one here, but does everyone know what they are doing for the shoebox swap??? I'm trying to come up with something SUPER but can't come up with one...... :? I was thinking of something with the Terrific Tuilp set... but that's a bit springy... Maybe I should come up with something for fall??? Or the Holidays???
On a side note, Paris, the RAK crack was funny!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know what they're doing! Mine will depend on whether I get my order by then. I'm waiting patiently for the UPS man to get to Lorie's house!
He'll be thereTuesday!!! YEA!!!! I've been thinking about taking Friday off to prepare for Saturday! I have a Dr. appt in the later am..... All day to stamp!

Jen, I wouldn't mind doing a swap with flowers. I have figured out my swap. It's going to be a holiday card but it would be fun to have a variety.
Only 6 more days! Woohoo!

Tami - you worry too much dear! Just bring any kind of diplay board. I'm using the same as KAthleenH (stole the idea from her). I'm briging 2. One that I show at my workshops and 1 extra with cards I've either designed, swapped or received as a RAK. YOUR RAK is on it for everyone to see! Oh...aren't you a Modest thing.... (get it)
Okay enough RAK talk.
I've finally counted the numbers and am still in contact with one other guest. I think there will be 28 swapers. If we break into 2 groups each group should prepare for 14 swaps and make 1 visual aid. Don't forget to donate a card to the troops!
I've got my swaps ready to go. I preped for 16....I figure I can always make the extras and send them to friends. I used the Totaly Cool stamp and some designer paper. Totaly Cool is MY FAV so I had to use it!!!!! Gotta have a trendy card in the swap. My cousin's swap is springy, my aunts is fallish. You guys can do what ever you want!
I think the more variety we have the better!!!!
You'll all be getting an email from me tonight with FULL DETAILS!
YIPPIE just 6 more days.
I wouldn't mind a spring card. I saw snow this morning. Shudder......
My swap is a holiday card too. I just need to cut up all the card stock now. I wish I could take Friday off! I have Thursday though so I shouldn't complain. I will be so busy though! I have a Stamp Camp Friday night and a workshop on Sunday. Saturday will be such a blast though that it just won't matter!
You have snow already? Come down south to Lakeville where it is a balmy 32 out. They are hinting about snow the end of the week here. Hope it is good travel weather. Looking forward to meeting all of you in Apple Valley.
Mary
Yes Mary, but of course it was just flurries and nothing stayed. THANK GOODNESS!
I don't really want to hear there might be snow this coming weekend! Hopefully if that happens, it's just that slushy stuff. Really though, NOTHING will stop me from being at the gathering!!!! Can hardly wait to meet all of you!
Saturday will not be here soon enough!
Hugs,
Gilly

A b-day card sounds like it'll add some variety to all these holiday/winter cards!!! I HATE WINTER!
FYI I was in Woodbury on Monday morning and there was some snow there too! I think everyone got a little bit of flurries...but only for a few mintues and nothing tooo noticable unless you were looking REALLY HARD.
Oh ya - I HATE SNOW TOO!
Guess If I won the Lottery I'd move SOUTH! Or maybe to Hawaii!!
Unless of course I love you all soooo much on the 13th...you may just convince me to stay in MN even if I won the lottery and could live anywhere else.
Can you believe there's only 4 days left.
Did everyone get my Final EMAIL?
Oh yes, I have to also mention that I HATE SNOW! Actually its not so much the snow...its the cold weather that goes with it! :( I spent most of my life in Southern California so I really HATE winter with a passion!
Yes, I got your last email...I am really looking forward to Sat...and yes, you're going to love us all so much that even if you won the lottery you will stay in MN...unless of course, we could all move with you!!!
Yes, Paris, we'll definitely convince you to stay here with us.
I LOVE SNOW and I LOVE COLD and I couldn't think of a better place to be. But I missed that snow Monday morning--I was probably at work already (no windows down in this basement.)
I can hardly wait for Saturday.....I still need to make my card and cut the cardstock and figure out what I'm doing. I've just got the worst case of stampers block this week. I cannot believe that I can't figure out something nice, quick or cute to make!!!! Maybe I need a hint of an occassion from all of you to get me going. I don't want to make holiday/Christmas, but not having any luck with what else to do????????
My mind has been on so many other things going on, it'll be nice to take a break from my life for a few hours to spend with all of you. I can hardly wait to see Chris again and finally meet Suzanne and everyone else, I'm bursting with excitement!!!!

Lenita, it's not too late! PM Paris and she will give you the scoop. We are accepting registrants right up until the day of. We'll even take walk-ins at the door. Of course, it's easier to plan if we have a head count ahead of time so the more notice you give us the better.
I hope to see you on Saturday!
