Hey all,
Late poster here. I did not see any thread for this and I am on SCS every morning. I am so excited about doing this. I hope I am not to late. I am here in Scott AFB, IL, and I have only met 1 other demo. I have been here for 1 year. My upline is in Georgia, and my downline is in Alaska. I would love go to this gathering. I was wondering when and where there would be one in IL.
Mindy
Where is Lincoln Illinois? as in near what major city? I'm in East Alton, about I'd say 15 min south of Hamel. I go through Hamel a few time a year with my husband. I'm also SU! demo, barely a year. I'd love to meet other people!
Val55 -
Come and join us! All the information is on the first post of the this thread. It's April 2nd, 10-4, fee $5.00, to be held at the Rec Center. Send me either a pm or an email and let me know you want to join us.
Sue
Hey Mindy - read through the previous posts - I think there is someone else here from SAFB. I am in Collinsville so we are like neighbors. We are trying to get a carpool together for this. I think that Ellen from Troy is driving so PM her if you are interested.

Lincoln is right off of I55. We are N of Springfield, S of Peoria, SW of Bloomington and W of Decatur. Each of those cities is approx. 30-45 minutes from us.

I've had a couple questions from some of you that are coming so I thought I'd clarify on here because others may wonder the same things.
Your Shoebox Swap that you bring for us to make does not have to be a card but it should be something that we stamp in some way. The supplies do not have to be SU but they should still be of the same quality. If you do bring a card for us to make it should be a full card.
The Rec center does have a fridge that we can use.
I will provide coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.
Feel free to ask anything else you are wondering about.
Sue
Okay you awesome stampers - just a reminder - please remember to send a stamping tip when you send your registration form to me. If you've already mailed in your form and forgot the tip - just email it to me.
Sue---how many spots are still open for this? I'm heading out of town for a couple weeks on business but will try to get the paperwork to you before I fly out.
Lisa V.
There aren't any spots left. I do have you and Linda on the list. That would be great if you could get your registration in, though. Please remember to include a Stamping Tip (read above posts if you don't know what that is).
Kristina - I'm sorry, I didn't mean to not add your name to those coming from the Champaign area - laziness on my part to not check it out more thoroughly. Thanks for saying something.
We are full. I will put anyone else on a waiting list.
Susie,
Put me on the for sure list and then if you can add 2 to the waiting list. Now I need to figure out which 2 dl to invite! Heehee!
Where do I find the registration form?
Thanks,
CHeryl
Cheryl,
Great! I'll add your name. You'll find the registration form as an attachment on the first post of this thread. If you have trouble opening it, let me know. Send me the names of the two for the waiting list as well. And yes, it's April 2 from 10a.m. to 4p.m.
Sue
I'm starting to receive the registration forms, fees, and Stamping Tips. Please remember to include your Stamping Tip. Two really neat ones came today. You all have some little nugget that you've learned and incorporated into your stamping and we all need to hear them!
Sue
Quick question...
Should we create our own nametags with, say, both our SCS name and our real name? Or will there be ones provided at the event?
Just curious.
I'm planning to make one for another event I'm attending...
Good question, Danita - in fact would you believe I'd just been sitting here wondering if I should make them or if all of you want to make your own. What does everyone think? I'll decide tomorrow after I hear your comments.
Sue
Randi,
I'm a little freaked about the shoebox swap, too. I've never done one!
As far as a name tag for myself, I was just thinking of stamping something that kind of represented me/my personality/that sort of thing. Hadn't gotten as far as deciding how to actually make it a name tag.
I would imagine that there could be just the regular self-adhesive tags at the event that you write your name on. I was just thinking since we all tend to be creative types, some people would enjoy making something unique for their name tag.
Mostly, I'm just thinking aloud. I would say that if it stresses you out, don't do it. This is all supposed to be fun...not stressful!
It is not the bad stress - it is the good stress that forces you to be creative. My excuse before I began stamping was always that I wasn't creative. Then people saw my cards and stuff and I can't use that excuse anymore
I guess you could laminate it and put it on a lanyard. I have one of those. Uh-oh now I am thinking out loud.

aaaahhh...I'm sure I have a lanyard floating around somewhere! That's an excellent idea!
Yeah, I know what you mean. I never thought I was a creative person before I discovered stamping! I'm a numbers person...have been all my life. But wow - this sure is a great creative outlet!
