Hi Everyone... just wanted to give you a heads up about the new store opening in Calgary's north end. The Scrapbook Pantry should be opening on January 10th. They are located on Country Hills Blvd near the Country Hills Sobey's. They've moved into the spot where Live and Learn toys used to be... by Crowfoot Plates to the West of Sobeys.
They are aiming for January 10th if all goes according to plan. It was supposed to be the 7th but are a few days behind as their General Contractor had some health problems.
Did many of you go to that 1st annual Calgary stampers weekend last year? I had to work that weekend, but I was wondering if you all met up there and know each other, other than through cyberspace. I have met Suzanne who posted in this thread. (Hi Suzanne! Are all those dew drop bottles you bought lasting or are they all gone??...ask her how many she bought! ;) ).
I didn't know about that Calgary Stamping Weekend until it was almost here... and then I was too chicken to go on my own... maybe next year a group of people I know will go too!
I know a handful of the Calgary Stampers/Bloggers....some of them are here too.... I know Suzanne, but not from stamping. I stamp on a regular basis with Shannon and Tracy and Allison. I met Shannon years ago through the YahooGroup I "own", Tracy I met through her SIL who is a good friend of mine, and Allison I met through her blog and Facebook.
We should try to do a Calgary SCS get together or something.... anyone interested in planning one?

I'm confused about where this is...help!
There is a Sobey's on Country Hills in Royal Oak, but I thought Crowfoot Plates was in Crowfoot near the Co-op. Help, where is this store, I would love to check it out.
It's in Country Hills by the Sobeys there. It would be east of the old Silver City movie theatre if you know where that is. It's in the parking lot with the TD Bank & Sleep Country and then in the next parking lot is the Sobey's.
I'd be interested in an SCS-Calgary group get together. If others are interested, we could plan something. I wonder if meeting at a scrap store and setting up a make n' take would be an idea. Do you think one of the stores would do something for a group? It would be good business for them!

You can also 'rent' the upper room (it's big) at most Superstores for free.
I know that the new store will be doing "frenzies" and you can book the classroom space..... once they open and get settled that might be an idea.
And sorry for the lousy directions.... I could see it in my head LOL!
Yes, there is a Crowfoot Plates at the place in Country Hills (Country Hills is a neighbourhood as well as a St)... I was saying Country Hills as a neighbourhood.
I just visited the new store in the south (new to me it's been around a couple of months) it's called the Scrapyard.
It was awesome AND open on Sunday!! Woo hoo!
But really, I would love to be in on a Calgary stamping event. I know scrapbooker's paradise on Macleod trail rents out there room for private crops. I think it's pretty inexpensive if you're a member (which I am!!).

I went to the Calgary Classic last year.... would be interested in another SCS Calgary get together. I'm in Lethbridge, but we come up to Calgary at least once a month.
oooo I'll be visiting me family in Calgary soon, and my cousin lives right near there. Oh, I am so going to have to pop in there and see what they've got.

It's actually called Country Hills Plates, not Crowfoot Plates :o)
I've been watching the progress almost daily so am really anxious for the store to open!

Hello everyone - I'm just north of you all.
Don't forget the next Calgary Classic is going to be in October, the committment is October each year. There are also SCS events in Edmonton each May, and in Innisfail/Olds in July. So keep watching for the sign up lists. We always have a great time.
I would be interested in a get together!
(I'm in Coach Hill... so not so close as the rest of you but I have been known to venture into that area on occasion...LOL) Looking forward to seeing the new store...
