Default HELP! What goes with Going Gray?

OK... I bought this whole pack of Going Gray cardstock and I haven't used one sheeet of it in six months! I looked at the Color Combo challenge and with over 100 color combos listed, there were only two color combos that included Going Gray! Does anyone have a card they can show me where they used Going Gray??? I need to use up this paper!!

Going gray or any gray is one of my favorite colors to work with. I haven't the courage to upload anything yet but I will tell you some of the combinations that I use. Black/white/red. I emboss with silver or a shimmery embossing powder. Teal or turqoise is also beautiful. You will be surprised once you start working with it. Good luck.

one of my favorite things to do with going gray is to spray it with a mixture of hair spray and silver pearl ex (mix them in the little bottle and spray it about a foot above the paper and let it settle there,) it gives the paper such a pretty shimmer to it and looks so much nicer then the silver paper SU has. I like doing this with really rust and copper pearl ex and creamy caramel and gold pearl ex. Just lovely!

I did go to this website before posting this question on this forum. There were a lot of combos listed for Going Gray, but I am a VISUAL person and wanted to see cards that used Going Gray. I did a search in the gallery, but came up with hundreds of cards that had "gray" in the title, etc., but not necessary Going Gray paper.

So are you using silver or gray? I can see that silver would be pretty with the black and red or the teal, but gray just seems so "blah". One of the color combos (CC31) was Taken with Teal and Going Gray OR silver. It seemed like most of the cards used the silver, not the gray, and I have to agree that the silver and teal was a pretty combo...the gray...not so much!

Now that sounds really pretty! I'll have to try that one! Thanks for the suggestion!

Last year someone posted a link to an online color combo chart - it uses SU! colors and if you select a color and click search - you'll get a whole slew of combos and get to view little squares of colors of those colors
I am NOT doing this justice but here is the link..
color combo chart
I see if I can find the original thread - but, I do really enjoy this resource (maybe it will help)

Red, Navy, Not Quite Navy, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Burgundy (can't remember the name of the new color), maybe one of the lighter shades of purple...

i don't know how to upload (i'm an old dog)

i use grey with red (s) or blue (s)

really red and/or night of navy would be my first choice.

i made a card the base was grey and it had little blue and red purses with white flowers on them.

happy stamping!

pixie pink. pretty in pink. use the gray as an accent color, not the dominant color. I have the same problem with Saraha Sand.

I did a card with Going Gray, Almost Amethyst and Baroque Burgundy and it turned out very nice. If you go to this shortcut, you can put in the color you want to use and it will give you ideas for color combos. It's very helpful and laurakj did a wonderful job. I commend her for all her hard work. Forums at Splitcoaststampers

Just take a sheet of Going Gray and start laying it down with other colors to see what you like. Works every time and it's visual.

Take a look at starofmay's gallery: starofmay's Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
she inspired me to love sage shadow, and is currently trying to get me to order going gray by making these awesome cards!

I must admit that I don't use GG all that often, either, but I do love my Elephant Blessings card, where I paired it with white and pixie pink.

Pretty in Pink is gorgeous with Going Gray! I made a wedding card with those two colors. Of course I don't have a picture, I made it before I found SCS! I love pink and gray together.
