Ok ladies here is the deal.
These are my DD BD Invites. I think they are BORING! The words are printed on Vellum.
What else can I add to them?? I was thinking some matching grosgrain across the top. BUT I don't have any SU ribbon. Who else make ribbion that matches closely to SU? Like at Michaels or A.C.Moore? I want to mail these out this weekend! TIA
I agree 100% about what you said about the ribbon across the top. That would be the perfect finish to a beautiful card. I get alot of ribbon from Joannes.
Have you tried using your markers or ink pads to dye white grossgrain ribbon for an exact color match? I've successfully colored white ribbon with markers and have also held ribbon against a classic ink pad with your index finger (use a disposable glove or even wrap a piece of scotch tape around your finger) and pull the ribbon with the other hand applying pressure on the ribbon against the ink pad. You just have to allow for drying time but it works great!

You know Kelly I have tried that but it bled after like 3 days of "drying"! I was soo upset!
That's the first I've heard that! I guess I've been lucky, I just pulled a card out of my stash that I must have made a year ago and I had no bleeding onto the cardstock. I'll keep an eye out in the future - thanks for the heads-up.
I think they are really cute! Is the glitter part of the vellum? Another idea without messing with the ribbon is strips of cardstock, either tied like a bow or knot. You could also run strips of cardstock through a crimper and attach them to the top so they look like ribbon too! I'll check to see if I have an example that I can post so this makes more sense. Then you also wouldn't have to make a trip to the store!

My gallery needs to be updated, but you can see some of my old stuff here!
I also like them the way they are. If you wanted to add ribbon that would look great too! Michael's either seems to have great ribbon, or none to pick from at all, never any happy medium. We don't have a Joanne's here, never been to one, feel so deprived!!.....!!:(
Ok back from Joannes! I got these 2 ribbon and ths thing of eyelets! I think thatthe ribbon might be too much being that theres the iridesecent dots on the vellum. Andthe eyelets match pretty good. What do you think??
Yes. I forgot to say this in my earlier post, but your invitations are really cute! They look fun & festive.

I didn't get a chance to put as much thought and time into them as I would have liked. Things have been crazy around here. I just threw these together!
Ok here is what it looks like. This ribbon is hard to thread!
I thought your invites were cute as is, but if you still wanted ideas - I have seen people get a bag of small balloons and knot them with ribbon on cards. You only take 2-3 different colored ones and then use ribbon at the top to keep them on. It adds color and texture and fits the theme.
