Hello All- This is my Christmas Card that I am working on. We will be moving in December, and I am sending this out instead of making two cards. I think it is missing something. It needs to look more polished. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you,
Angela
Very cute card...love the snowing look! I wonder about using a blue ribbon instead of the black. That's all I can think of to suggest, I think it's great.

I love this card! If you are looking for a slight change you could mount the green on black which would make the ribbon pop. It is a great moving/christmas card.
I agree with the color of the ribbon, though that's not my main suggestion. It looks a little "heavy" on the left side. Maybe slide the ribbon knot over to the right above the "we've moved" so it balances it but also frames the "we've moved". Just an idea... I think it looks great...lots of time in it too.
I think the green mat should be Old Olive if you're going to use that much OO in the image. Maybe a thin black mat under the focal image might make it pop more too. HTH
I love this card! I agree that maybe moving the knot on the ribbon to the other side would balance it perfectly! Good luck with the move, so close to Christmas! You are a brave woman, lol !
Wow! How long does it take to make one card, and how many are you making? These are great...and such a great idea to combine the holiday card with the move.
I agree with the suggestion on the ribbon...but I think you could keep the ribbon if you threw in a thin black mat behind the white layer. The other suggestion I have is with the coloring on the snowmen. It could just be the computer, but it appears the house and scarves are old olive, and the green cardstock layer is green galore. I would try to keep the colors the same, so it doesn't appear too busy.
Overall, this is a really great card, and it looks like you spent a lot of time on this wonderful creation!
Angela,
I love the card too - what a very creative idea!! I didn't think it needed anything, but after reading others' suggestions, I like the idea of a thin black border around the green. I like the black/white ribbon as it ties in the black-inked greetings. SW mentioned it seeming alittle heavy on the left. How about switching the snowman and house around, leave the knot where it is and slide the red cardstock to the right side? Would that look alittle more balanced/complete to you? Even if you didn't change a thing, I think it's ready to be mailed. Please let us know what you decide.
Good luck with your move! -June
I appreciate all of your responses. I will have to make time this afternoon to work on it. That is in between organizing before the packers come. I will post to my gallery when I have it done.
Thank you again,
Angela
It looks great!
Some wonderful suggestions too.
I thought you could punch the corners of the main image with the ticket punch and add a few brads in the corners left from the ticket punch.
