Help me decide what Background Stamp to get please!!
I want to get a new background stamp but I can't decide which one. I currently have
Soft Swirls
Canvas
BY definition
On the spot
and the wonderful Paisley Print
I want to get one of the new ones but I just can;t seem to decide. My mostr recent stamp purchases include the Tall Taled alpha, Label Classics, Little Pieces, and I have sets liek Bubble Queen, Heartfelt Thanks, Nature's Secret, Frolicking Frogs, Mixed Bouquet, Treat Yourself, TOtally Cool, and cool cat just to give you all an idea of what type of stamps I use.
I am debating between.....
Word by Word
Fine LAce
Linograph
Print Pattern
I tried to check ou tht egallery to help me decide but it's down. So I thought I wuld pick everyone's brains here and then scan through the gallery once it's up.
And then as I was typing I thought..... wow I already have a lot of background stamps already. Do I really need another one?
Another vote for Print Pattern, since you already have some of my other favorites!

I am addicted to Print pattern. Everything looks better with it.
I just got On The Spot. That looks like an awesome background too.
Who am I kidding? I am crazy about backgrounds. A collector of backgrounds. You need them all. But Print Pattern should be first!!!
shannon - i am having the same debate with myself- i have all same ones you have - and i want all the same ones - i've decided to get print pattern first, and then i think i'll get fine lace, and then linograph - but basically i want all the backgrounds - i have a hard time leaving a piece of card stock naked! soooo my choice would be print pattern first.

Girlfriend you need a little reality check...you DO NOT have a lot of background stamps!!! LOL!!!!
All the ones you listed look like good choices, but I would say Print Pattern first like everyone else. It just went on my order this weekend.
Honestly you need them all!!! I have 8 new ones from this catty alone!!! Seriously print pattern and floral are probably my faves from this catty.
I agree - I just got floral and was surprised not to see it on the list - i haven't used it yet but there are some awesome cards - it looks much better stamped than in the catalog

While my vote is actually for Print Pattern, ;) I have to agree with lizb. Floral is not something I would have picked out of the catalog at all, but I have seen some gorgeous samples in the gallery using that one.
But then I don't own either of them, so who am I to say. :o I'm just going by the gorgeous stuff I see from you ladies in the gallery! Both of them are definitly on my list!
I like the samples I have seen with the print pattern. I think I would use it a lot. But then I see how people cut out the words of word by word and I think... ooo that is a good idea too.
I am planning to place my order tomorrow.... let me ask you this... I have All wrapped up and Treat Yourself. I was going to order the accessories. Do I just have to have them or should I wait and get the Word by Word set too?
I just bought Print Pattern and Fine Lace and I couldn't tell you which one I like better. But I do agree with what someone else said, with the stamp sets you've mentioned, I would consider Crosshatch as well. I'm going to put that on my next order. It goes well with the more "casual" sets you mentioned.

Print Pattern - first choice, hands down. Then Floral. I thought it was ugly just going by the catalog. It wasn't til I saw the creations of the SCS gals that I had to have it. Warning: I also saw NO need for Craft ink until I started using Floral! <g>
Tell me more about Texas Stamp Day. I am located in Austin.
\
Texas stamp day is a day of stamping with local (and some not so local) SCS ladies. We are getting together, each bringing a card for everyone else to make, and making each other's cards. We will make 60 cards, eat, and hang out together. It is Oct 1st and the threads about it are in Get It Together forum.
Thank you so much to all of you who posted. I have decided to get the print pattern stamp. However after reading some of your suggestions and looking at the galleries of some of the other BG stamps I have decided that I have to have word by word so I can make the little baggies of words, fine lace to use with my Heartfelt Thanks, floral- I just have to try this with versamark and chalks, and crosshatch and linograph just because. I think I am becoming a background stamp junkie. I never used to be this way..... but now I can't stand to have plain cardstock. Thanks again for all of you help!!!

Yep...that is how it starts...the first BG stamp.......
I've been mostly lurking for the last year or so, but I read this post and had to ask... do any of you have both Print Pattern and the old retired background Harlequin? I have Harlequin and didn't really consider Print Pattern because I thought it looked so similar. TIA for your opinion...
If I recall correctly, the Harlequin pattern had more solid-looking diamonds. The Print Pattern stamp has more of an aged, weathered look to it, with more negative space. That's why it looks so good with the shabby, distressed collage look that's so popular now. I think the same is true of the new stamp that looks very much like the old Antique Cracking stamp.
