Default Help me decide

If you could only have ONE background stamp, which would it be? I don't have any right now, but I want to get something in my August stamp club order.
Thanks.

My vote is for linen. If you mean the new ones, I vote for Tres Chic.

That must mean something if all three votes so far are for the same one. I need to look at my catalog closer. I just picked it up this afternoon and haven't had much time to browse yet.

I've gotta go with Print Pattern.....very versatile. I like Linen, but I think it looks best stamped with something. Print Pattern looks fabulous all on it's own!

I'd order unmounted from Cornish Heritage Farms instead and get 2 or 3 instead. It's only $7.99 for a full sized background stamp and incredible quality! Since it's so big you don't even need a mount for it! If you have to have mounted theirs are only $14.99 with the wood block.

I have their paisley, spaghetti, tiny roses, trees, canvas, harlequin, and one other I can't remember. I'd say harelquin, paisley and canvas are the must haves.

Pardon me for asking, but are you all referring to SU stamps?

I am thinking of ordering weathered - any votes for that one? Also, I like some of the jumbo wheels for the background look - speckled, rough texture, and watercolor vine all appeal to me as suitable for BG stamping - I love tone-on-tone backgrounds.

It appears they are talking SU! - I recognize the names of the ones mentioned as all SU! ones.

You can get so many examples from the gallery here to help you decide- I looked intensely at the cards that really drew my eye, and most of them had linen so that's what I started with, and have used on almost every card I've made since. But that may not be your style. The suggestions here will give you a starting place...
good luck!

Have you seen the papers that look like the weathered background? They are pastels with darker lines that give it the weathered texture? Really nice. My Richmond Va Ben Franklin has some on clearance.

I don't think you can go wrong no matter which one you choose. :-) I have a ton of them. Most often I use Print pattern, Linen, script which is retired, weathered, flannel and floral. I liked someone else's idea of looking in the gallery or at your favorites and notice which backgrounds are most common in the cards you like. It may help you decide.

Linen and Weathered for me, but Sanded is on my list for July. I also love Itty Bitty Backgrounds, which I use more than the others, but these are not large background stamps.
