Smile Help with BLOGS

Hi all -- I do not have a Blog but have been thinking about starting one. I have seen lots of people who post cards they have made with the links to the products they have used. Can anyone tell me if you can make money from having a Blog from the companies that you are listing if someone clicks on them ?? If so how do you go about that ??? Do you have to live in the same country as the company you list the link for ?? Or do you have to be someone who the company sends their products to to showcase them ??? Any help would be appreciated. Would love to find a way to make a income from the internet and my hobby. Thanks Kim

Generally, I don't think you could make much cash from a blog. Monetising, as they call it, is soley dependant on having a huge number of people visiting your blog on a daily basis. So you would need to create yourself a massive following before you could generate any cash flow, and generating a regular audience like that takes a lot of time- not only length of time to build up such a following, but also time invested in doing the stuff that will attract followers in the first place. You'd have to be posting stuff you'd made/ You Tube videos on a daily basis, at least. When you had a big enough following, then you could realistically approach companies and ask about them advertising on your blog, I would think. getting products from companies would also I think depend on you having a lot of subscribers to a You Tube Channel. And it would not hurt to try for DT places, either.

There are likely some designers on specific company design teams who are given a set fee for doing specific blogging per their contract with that company. However, this certainly is not the case for a majority of design team members. For many, their "payment" or "reimbursement" is in stamps, etc. rather than monetary compensation. Each company is entirely different in that respect.

General crafty bloggers are primarily sharing their joy in creating when they blog. And those of us who enjoy participating in online card making challenges usually blog about those entries as well, linking back to the group hosting the challenge. It's a fun little cyber-way of touching base with other stampers, and feeling more like you're "in communication" with others of the same interests. ;)

Default Blogs & Blogging Forum

Have you explored our SCS Blogs & Blogging Forum?

There's a subform for Blogging Questions, and another for groups of chatters who have collectively become cyber-friends and literally "grouped" up here to chat regularly! You might find something there to help your decision of "to blog, or not to blog". ;)
