Craft night tonight with my girls, and my daughter is mounting a "new" older SU set on wood blocks. Yes - we are old-fashioned around here and still enjoy our wood blocks! As she pulls the paper backing off the rubber and foam, the adhesive is sticking to the paper and not to the foam cushion. So the foam cushion that should then stick to the wood block is SLICK, with no STICKY whatsoever! What do you recommend for sticking, and can we make it workable for this evening?

seems to me when I was doing that, buying wood blocks to make cling stamps have a handle I used something to glue the cling foam to the blocks and what ever it was ( too long ago ) it deteriorates over time. I want to say I used rubber cement but, I am thinking that is not correct.
It may be easier to remove that cling foam from the rubber and put the double sided black ( for mounting to wood) foam. The same co. that makes the cling foam in sheets makes the foam for wood mounting too. Sunday International / crafters companion.
when I look at Amazon, It only shows me cling foam from them but, I did find this from someone else. ( no telling if it is good or not but, this is what you are going to want to look for that will work for wood) ( double sided adhesive)
It’s definitely not cling foam. Just an older wooden block stamp set. The adhesive is definitely the right kind; it is just old enough that it is mostly sticking to the paper except in a few spots. Rubber cement is what was recommended in the past for mounting your own plain cushion to a wood block, so that is probably what we will do. We were just hoping for a quick solution during our crafting time last evening.
Got any sheets of double stick adhesive in your stash? Or maybe Xyron sticker rolls? Those might work. If you do need to buy new sticky foam, I HIGHLY recommend this guy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JimsRubber...g_id=103890907
I have bought from him over the years at both ebay & etsy. He's great to deal with. I used to buy unmounted rubber stamps and use his mounting foam to put them on wood. When everyone was unmounting, I was getting blocks from everybody. Be sure you buy the double stick foam, not the rigid thick mounting, which is meant to replace wood blocks. I'm not that big a fan of that, since it's not really thick enough for me.
OK, the link isn't working for me, but on Etsy it's
Once you try a Misti Stamp tool, you will kick yourself why you never bought one before. Tim Holtz and a few other companies make almost the same stamp tool. I can't think why anyone would trust the blocks for a perfect stamping especially when you can't make a stamping mistake with a stamp tool at any time.

I love my MISTI! Best tool I ever bought! I even bought a full size one for the young woman I taught to stamp! She made over 100 Christmas cards in just a few hours! It really helps me with arthritis in my fingers!
