Hi Aimee...My friend and I are going! I'm coming from Cincinnati so I have about the same drive. I've never gone but I am excited to see what it is all about! :-D
We should! Have you ever been to Stampaway, the convention here in Cincinnati in August? That's the only convention I have ever gone to and I LOVE it. I hope this one is comparable!

ooooooooooo I just googled that - looks good just means I will have to save up to spend:rolleyes:
The conventions are so worth going to! There are so many Ideas and some of the booths have make and takes. Do them all, even if it is a tech. that you already know. During the demo the ladies (or men) talk about things they have done or the wonderful mistakes that have happened and you learn that way too.
When It goes to purchasing, I find that prices in general are high. However, you can get all your heart desires in one stop and that saves a b... load of shipping.
Pam - Are you talking about the Heirloom or the Stampaway?
I figure the prices might be high, I'm hoping to get some things that my LSS doesn't usually carry. I'm also hoping one of the vendors has a mini scor-it.

Alright I'm back! It was a blast. I wish I lived closer to Indianapolis so I could go again tomorrow.
I spent quite a bit, not as much as I *could* have, but still plenty. It was really crowded and I just didn't want to stand in long lines, which kept me from buying too much.
I saw Nestabilites from a couple of different places and they were going fast. I really only wanted the rectangles, which they were out of - so I passed. One vendor in the back had every type of marker, ink and reinker imaginable, that was pretty awesome.
I got a set of the Copic spica markers from Papertrix. These are really beautiful in person.
I also got a few unmounted stamps from Beeswax and some other company. Finally, I bought some glitter and EP from Powder Keg and blending fluid.
There were several make n takes. Most were free except for the CTMH who was charging 50 cents. I passed. The Papertrix Easter card make n take was adorable and completely sold me on those Spica pens. <sigh>
Very cool show, so many people! Lots of fun. If you are on the fence about tomorrow, I highly recommend. I took some pictures and might try to blog them tonight. Parking was $3, be prepared for that!
Oh and I stopped at Archivers on the way home. I used my 30% on a min scor-it and I got Birds Galore, woo hoo!

Went to the Heirloom convention in Puyallup in Washington State last year. It was incredible! The demonstrations were interesting. I can't believe how much cool stuff I bought that I had never even known existed. A word of advice is that you have to get to the convention early otherwise things you may want will sell out.

I went to the Heirloom show in Indy today. The copics were individual and they also had refills for them. I only saw three vendors selling copics, and they all had the Ciao Copics, and I use Sketch. I am just addicted to having the numbers on the ends. I would love Ciaos if I could figure out a way to label them on the ends so I could easily see what color family I was working with as I like to use colors close to each other in number when it is possible.
wow, this sounds great. I've gone to the Heirloom show in Rhinebeck, NY, which is held in September, for the past 3 years since they started it. The first two years were good and last September was really disappointing. There couldn't have been more than 20 vendors, and the previous years there had been many more. My friend and I got through it in a couple of hours and 90 percent were vendors that had been there before. I wonder if that's the same at other Heirloom shows -- that if you are a repeat customer it can be a bit boring. I'm not sure I'm going to go again. But that didn't prevent us from buying, though!

Hi All! I also went to the show yesterday and really enjoyed it!! I probably spent more than I should have but I bought somthings I have never seen before. I just love checking out all the neat things!! This was my first time and I would definitely go back!! (Esp. since we went to diiner @ Ruth Chris afterwards!)
I agree that we SCS people need some kind of a sign that we are SCS. I went to the Indy show yesterday also. I would really like to meet some of you IRL. I, of course spent too much. I was suprised that a lot of the make and takes that didn't used to have a fee do now. I understand why they have to do it, but maybe they could give you a coupon to use if you make a purchase. We always go to Cincy in August and DH is taking me to the Adventures in Stamping show in Akron 4/26. What a nice anniversary gift.

What a great DH! HMMMM...Maybe my DH could take me to Akron for an earrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrly anniversary gift...hmmmmmmmmmm
I also agree with having a sign showing we are SCS. Maybe a special pin or something. It would be neat to meet IRL!

My anniversary is the 25th of April, could you email me a link to this, maybe I could talk my husband into taking me
I went to the Heirloom show in Indy yesterday too! A group of 6 of us went. Five of us went last year and one was a first-timer. The first-timer was really the only one that enjoyed it.
This year there wasn't near as many booths as last year!!! And what WAS there, was mostly the same stuff we saw last year. So we were only there for 2 hours and that includes eating our sack lunch! I didn't see any great deals, or anything that I just couldn't get anywhere else. I did buy a few things, but not much. We had more fun stopping off at JoAnn's, Michael's, and Target in Avon since we don't have any of those here.
Oh, and someone mentioned a mini-Score-it. The booth back in the far right corner was selling those. The one that was demo'ing the Bind It All (which was $60/regular price. if it'd been a bargain, I would have bought a BIA there!) I didn't check the price on the Score-it though since I have a Scor-pal.
We had a flat tire on the interstate on the way there, so we DID have quite an adventure! But the Heirloom show was a big disappointment for us so we probably won't go for a third year in a row. I hope to find a different "show" to go to in central IL or IN.
I've gone to the one in Novi, MI, many times--will go again this year. It's HUGE. I always have a shopping list of things to stock up on (vs. buying them online and paying shipping). Then there's all the new goodies that I 'have' to have! LOL
I've also gone to the one in Fort Wayne, IN--it's much smaller. That's good and bad--but the good part is that there are not long lines for the make-n-takes or demos, and it's 2 months after the Novi show--so I can get there, what I wish I had gotten at Novi.
Never went to Stampaway in Cincy--but I've heard good things about it. Might have to check it out this year!
