that was suppose to say 18.27 SHIPPING on a 6.00 stamp.

as far as the costs to make rubber stamps...i'm sure he was speaking of a large manufacturing company, not an individual.....and not of start up costs, machinery, etc. for a new company. But I understood what he meant. I feel sure on the grand scale of things its not that expensive to manufacture a rubber stamp. He didn't work for a stamp company but works for DuPont,so I took him at his word.

I can understand why you wouldn't be happy with those amounts. Let us know what is done to rectify the situation.

Emily has already emailed and said it was a mistake and would refund the difference. I've always gotten really quick responses back from her. I thought she might take the weekends off though!! Its really nice doing business with a company that cares about their customers.

Oh, good! I'm glad she got back to you, I like her so much...LOL I asked all sorts of questions on my last order and she answered every single one of them. Not a lot of companies like that anymore.

I'm glad you got it fixed. I've been wondering how much it really costs to make a stamp because I've noticed some other individuals doing it too... but I can't draw... so no stamps for me.

Yes I did and she replied back that she is looking into it.

It's still odd to me, though, that a few of you are quoting the very low shipping you've paid in the past to get your orders in the USA when I paid around $9 last time and I'm in Canada and it was shipped regular canada post mail, no expedited or express or anything.

Oh well, no one is forcing me to place an order.

I've always wondered too. I tried Googling it for about an hour and then gave up...everything was too technical and didn't really give a hint of the costs.

Wow it has increased. To ship 1 Bella to Halifax (east coast of Canada) was $11.51 CDN.

To send same Bella to my mom in the US it would be $4.85 USD so maybe if I order again I would ship it to the US then have my mom ship to me - she sends me UM stamps for $1 or 2.

hello all's
I just snuck onto my hub's computer as for some weird reason, I cannot log into SCS on mine.. think that's a hint? think there is 'overusage' on my part? LOL
Ok.. this is the scoopage on shipping. I am glad the majority of the sistahs 'know' me and understand what I am all about! LOL. I would NEVER EVER take advantage of anyone regarding pricing and shipping. I have been forever upset with Canada Post's standard shipping timeframes so I decided to invest in 'options' where people can choose what time frame they would like to receive their bellas in. Having said that, I am sure you understand that when a new module is installed it can go MENTAL on you..LOL. This is what happened.. some people got free shipping cuz of the 'bug' (lucky sistahs) and some people got extra high shipping charged... Of course if it is unusually high, I will credit the difference no questions asked. My Canadian module is obviously acting up and is being worked on. Having said that Canada Post doesn't know the difference between 1 stamp or 6 stamps.. it goes by weight and location. Please understand!
Having said that, I am very open and always there so if anyone at all has any concerns or questions, I am always there..

Em

I know it's odd but it's WAY cheaper to ship something to the US than to someone in Canada. I sole some retired SU! stamps on e-bay in the fall and it cost $5.99 to ship a set to the states, but $12+ to ship it somewhere in Canada, the farther east you go (from here) the higher the postage! It Sucks!

Just couldn't resist the not so subtly veiled dig at SU, could you?

If you want to continue to complain about SU shipping, I suggest you be perfectly honest and state that the increase in shipping based on the price increase overall is LESS THAN half a penny in most cases....

I think we can all deal with half a penny, especially when I spent $8.99 for shipping from Creative Express last week for a $5.99 item!

Even on my largest order, I've never paid more than $8.50 for shipping. I'm sure it's just a weird glitch, and if you're in Canada, maybe it's best to email Em your order first and see what shipping will "really" be? She's always SOOOO fair where shipping is concerned! She's MORE than fair, which is why I keep coming back! Just placed another order when VeggieBella made her debut. THUS, bringing my total of all Bellas, Fellas, and Fella/Bellas to:

40!!!

You are still paying $15 shipping on a $150 order, so no, your post is NOT accurate...

Your shipping charge is exactly the same as it always has been, 10% of your total...

and if you dispute my "new math"...

10% of $1 is 10 cents...

10% of $1.05 is 10.5 cents...

nuff said...

If your total is 5% higher and then you pay taxes on the higher amount and add that on and THEN you pay shipping on all that, it greatly affects a $150 order, which is our average for our group.

It makes nearly a $10 difference on what used to be $150 worth of product to get the same product after the increased 5% and the increased shipping. They add the tax first here and then figure the shipping on that. So in the end $10 on each order over the course of a year (we do about 10 orders a year) means a $100 increase.

Additionally, you ASSUMED I was talking about SU. You may assume what you want, but I order from many companies. It is not the company, it is the policy that some companies are adopting that affects the overall cost much more than a simple shipping increase. Business wise, these companies were much smarter to profit by raising prices, and thus automatically getting more on the shipping than those who simply passed on the higher shipping cost. They need to know that customers are aware of exactly who is playing which end.

I thought this was a Bella thread? Can we try to stay on topic?

Actually the title is "Has Bella shipping increased", no mention of any other company! As for SU, 10% is 10%, no matter what your total is.

What you are not getting is that if they raise the prices 5% then that DOES affect your shipping bottom line.

SU! did not raise the shipping!

and ALL companies will make increases over time!

the bella s&h has been changed from 12% to a flat rate on different types of shipping!

you can choose more expensive if you want. or you can choose not to buy them at all.

Default In my humble opinion

I would just like to say that I also have a business where I ship product to Canada and the US and believe it or not, shipping is cheaper to send something to the US from Canada then it is within Canada. Also, I agree with many of you that have said that when you go to purchase something from an on line company (or any company for that matter) and you don't like the cost of shipping, either decide to pay it anyway or don't buy the product. I know this whole shipping and handling thing is a hot topic right now but the bottom line in my opinion is that each and every company has the right to choose WHATEVER shipping cost that they want to charge the consumer and it is ultimately up to the consumer to click the buy button or not!
