Tried the Dawn McVey method. The flowers were fun and easy to make.
I took a trip once using this travel company and now they send me pamphlets, catalogue, postcards so rather than just throw all this paper away in my recyle bin, I used my SU scalloped punch. My flower are made using the map that shows the travel path for a particular trip since the different countries were printed in different colors, the scenery of a particular location, etc. (Some petals have the Effiel Tower, a pyramid, a castle, a farmer's market cart, etc. ) Because the pictures/pages have a slight sheen, the flowers don't look 'flat'. I even used the printed pages that tells the highlights of a particular excursion because they were printed in different colors. I have lots of choices since this company sends so many mailings - got 3 in one day! I'm going to send a card with one these flowers to a friend who went on this trip with me. We talked about how we wished they would stop with so much and so frequent mailings and just lower the prices of the trips---
I also preordered the Nellie Snellen punches and keep checking the front porch for the package.
I have a paper flower tutorial on my website and I don't see another flower like it here yet. No punches required! Great job ladies, some of these flowers are AMAZING!
Here is one that I made using the flower folds die from SU and with, of all things, the brown packing paper that comes with each SU order, already scrunched up for me! The next time I try one, I think I will stamp the paper first with a background stamp and also add a larger embellishment to the center of the flower.
