I make almost as many Halloween cards as I do Christmas. It's my one of my favorite holidays. I also make treat boxes. I also put up the cards I received from my friends. We all like Halloween. Sheesh, when else can get on brooms and fly around and not cause a big stir!!

*grin* I have actually bought many Halloween cards, just for the artwork. I actually have them all framed and hanging up on my walls all year round!!!

But the cards that I send are the ones that I actually make (and not buy).

I love Halloween and LOVE Halloween stamps! I have more Halloween stamps than I do Christmas stamps (altho I'm trying to remedy that...). I send Halloween cards to my nieces, nephew, and sisters. In the past year, I've become part of a group of stamping friends and will probably make Halloween cards for them, too!

Nope...We do not celebrate Halloween in Australia.

The last couple of years, we are seeing some Halloween stuff creeping in...so maybe we go more along that way. I won't be though.

I still like looking at all the card made with this theme though!

I love Halloween!! And I love making cards and sending them to other Halloween lovers - the rest I send to Cards For Heroes so our heroes have cards to send home to their little ghosts and goblins

I think Halloween is becoming more popular all over thanks to the kids that watch the US tv shows and want to go trick or treating for the sweeties. I make 1 card every year and that's for a sil who's birthday is on halloween. Not worth the cost of buying a new stamp every year just for 1 card but I do love the new inkadinkadoo sets.

But I also sell an awful lot of them. I have so much fun making Halloween cards and apparently it shows because they are my best seller.

I would guess I am in the minority here. While I adore the cute halloween cards that I see and do make a few (because my DT commitments require it), I rarely send Halloween cards.

My kids are nearly grown (my youngest is nearly 15), and they are boys... they just don't appreciate the handmade cards that much. And, Halloween is not a 'holiday' for us. It's a choice, not a religious mandate.

With that said, I like the idea of sending those Halloween cards I make to, say, a Children's hospital or something like that. I don't like them going unloved

I make them and send them/give them out. I wouldn't spend all that time and energy making something that would just sit around gathering dust.

I have not done them before, but this year I am. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents this weekend who live far away and I am realizing things like this would thrill them. So I am going to start to send them cards for all different occasions. Everyone loves happy mail.

I love Hallowe'en but over here in the UK people don't tend to send Hallowe'en cards (or at least no one I know sends them other than me). My friends and work collegues get Hallowe'en cards from me but my parents don't as they don't like it at all. I have to say though Hallowe'en is getting bigger and bigger over here each year so eventually you never know, people may send out cards for it one day. I am going to make mini Hallowe'en gifts this year too. (I do the ' between the ee too :P)

My cards go in a big dusty pile year after year because I don't know what to do with them.. opinions? advice??

p.s. in Canada we sometimes do that thing in between the "ee's" of Hallowe'en.. sorry 'bout that!

I make them and send them and you better not put that fabulously scary one on your blog today in a pile....send it my way

I only make one for my MIL. I have the CB Halloween Folder and use that as the backdrop every year with a different Halloween Stamp (I have some studio G halloween ones).

I'm making A halloween card for my niece - maybe one for my friend, but that's it. I was raised on the prairies (Manitoba) and until I started stamping I never heard of anyone sending halloween cards. Last year I made little treat holders for the people in my office, but this year is the first year I will make a halloween card.

I'm an American and I personally don't know a single person who has ever sent a Halloween card. I really don't understand why Halloween has become such a big deal. I don't make Halloween cards, don't plan on making Halloween cards, and if the last few years is any indication, I don't plan on giving out much candy on Halloween either.

I adore all the cute Halloween sets, but I don't use them as much as I could, sadly. Sometimes they work for other occasions, though...like a baby congrats card of all things, lol!

I love making Halloween cards. I always make some.. but I dont' send them to everyone I send Christmas cards too. I just send them to a few select people, and for the teachers at school. Halloween is such a fun time--- I just can't resist it. I go all out decorating my home.. making cards and other projects is just an extension of that.

I grew up with Halloween not being any big deal ...THEN ... I married a guy who loves Halloween (not in a creepy kinda way, just in a fun-loving big kid kinda way). Now I love it, too (only cute or funny Halloween -NOT creepy Halloween). I send cards, actually mailing them to distant friends and family. I also enjoy making small treats for local friends. I think Halloween is a fun, low-pressure holiday (unlike Christmas, Valentine's and Easter - all of which I love, too!, but they really are much more pressure-filled). It's just that Halloween is supposed to be just for kids, so when you do something for another adult, they're always so wonderfully surprised.
But I have to ask, what's up with the " ' " in Hallowe'en?

i kinda explained it in the first post. it's a Canadian thing. It's how we spell it! (or i should say, it's how we learned how to spell it in elementary school.. most canadians keep up the Hallowe'en spelling.. )

Never got Halloween cards as kids or adults and never made them. Have very little (i think 2 stamp sets) for halloween and rarely use them. I feel weird giving a Halloween card. I guess I should try it and see. Maybe I could make someones day very spooky. lol

I don't make a lot of halloween cards, but the ones I make (probably for challenges) I usually send to friends.

The apostrophe in hallowe'en comes from shortening the name from All Hallow's Evening so the apostrophe is there to indicate the letter "v" is missing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hallowe'en doesn't go down terribly well here in the UK, most people hate children, especially children and young adults not known to them, knocking on doors and frightening them. There is also a small minority of young (thuggish) teens who use it a an excuse to be nasty.
Many supermarkets here have taken to selling pumpkins for Hallowe'en but it was semi traditional to use things like swedes or mangels (type of sugar beet used for cattle) to carve faces out of.
