What is the advantage of a thinner foam? I understand Gina K's point - but what about larger stamps? I'm about to go unmounted and I'm getting ready to order some EZ mount - should I do the standard size or go thinner?

This is what my email message said.
EZ Thin Mount - Good Stuff!
EZ Thin Mount is 1/16" thick and works great for stamps that are smaller than 1". It's also a great solution for stamps that you buy which are already mounted to a double sided adhesive foam (i.e. Stampin' Up Stamps). Just mount it directly to the new EZ Thin Mount and trim out. It's now ready to use with an acrylic block!
So I would think the Advantage would be for those of you that want to unmount your Wood mounted Stamps.
Not to have go through all the trouble of getting rid of the foam mounting that wood mounted stamps have.
Because right now you have to get rid of foam mounts when you unmount them.
I know that some other's have been looking for something new to use on their stamps.
wow...that's cool! Thanks for posting this! I've unmounted and fought with the foam already, but this thinner stuff will be great for the future ('cause I will be buying more stamp sets  )

Its probably great if you store you unmounts in binders, itll cut down on the bulk and youll be able to add more ;) Thanks for sharing the info Nancy ~

I thought I would share this good news!!!
Thanks for posting this Nancy! I remember when Stampin' Up started using thinner foam for those small stamps like "everyday flexible phrases" and stuff like that and I always wondered where you could buy just a sheet or two for small unmounted stamps. I know you can buy it by the roll but it costs hundreds of bucks and who could ever use all of that if you were just doing your own stamps. It's nice to know that it's now available in those smaller sheets!
That's what I love about SCS! There always someone "in the know" about stuff you want to know! LOL!
Thanks again Nancy!

So many ways to unmount! Just when I thought I had figured out how to take the plunge a new option comes along. I'm probably putting too much thought in to this decision and it will be great regardless if I use EZ Mount (regular or thin), ATIOAO, Cling Vinyl, etc...
Any idea if I put the EX Mount thin on top of the existing foam layer will it still fit in a CD case for storage?
I really wonder how thick the foam would really need to be for a good image. Would the new think mount be okay for bigger stamps is my real question? Sometimes It would be nice to have thinner foam to make the stamp fit into my CD cases without causing a crease in the foam or damaging the rubber where the one side of the case is shorter than the other (KWIM?) Large BG stamps are usually my issue.

Yeah, it works fine for bigger stamps too.

Something I try to do everytime I place my stamps in the CD case.
I take the CD case and look to see which side is larger. I then take and place all my stamps on that side!
I make sure that none of my stamps are near that Crease...So my stamps won't be damaged by it.
So far it has worked for me...Now going on 5 years.
I have uploaded some photo's of how they look in the CD cases.
Does anyone know how much the thinner cling mount costs? I went to the website and it doesn't say - just that they are preordering for April delivery.
I just called Sunday internationally and ask about the price for this Ez-mount Thin Foam.
Foam size 8 1/2" X 11" and it's $4.50 a sheet.
If you have signed up as a Demo with them you will be able to get it a little cheaper.
I signed up along time ago. and I think my saving is. 20%. Which is better than paying full price for it.
When you sign up they check to see whether or not you are a Active Demo for your company.
If you are not then they will not let you sign up.
I had a friend of mine sign up and she hadn't been active in 5 months.
They told her that she couldn't get the discount cause she wasn't a active demo.

.
I don't have much of a problem with the little stamps, it's the big background stamps when they fill the whole case and there is no avoiding that darn crease. Maybe this new thinner foam will be the answer!

I don't store my background stamps in CD cases because of this.
I keep them in the Plastict case they came in.
I know that some ladies have used the travel size baby wipe containers for the background stamps.
Or used a DVD case.
Not really sure how this work. I've never used them.

I purchase a number of BG stamps at convention and they don't have boxes like SU so this thin foam sounds wonderful to me. I hope that I see it at convention in March!
