DH surprised me this morning and said that when my MIL gets here (grrr...he knew I wasn't excited about that part, but we do live next door to his grandparents so inlaw visits are pretty frequent - at least they stay next door!) she is going to keep Ava Grace (our 13 month old) and we are going out of town for the afternoon/evening (nearest town w/ a mall - 1 hour away). I discovered last time we were there they have a Hobby Lobby, and I've never been (usually cruise to Michael's). He said, and I quote, "I thought I would take you shopping today, so we could be together. We can go to that crafty store you want to go to, and buy whatever will make you smile."
Ummm, YIPPEEEEE!!!!!! Maybe this is because I had a meltdown earlier this week - between ful time school, full time job (and I am my entire dept, which makes for busy days), and a teething 1 yr old, I got a little stressed about cleaning the house. Guess it worked!!!!
So, am I gonna like it? I've heard good things about their selection. Are there any coupons I can print online that are usable in the store?
Thanks, and I can't wait for my date with DH in a few hours!!!
Print more than one and have your DH buy something too.... and maybe stop back before you leave the town to buy something else! LOL Their paper is all 50% off (single and packaged). I think the stickers are 50% off too this week.
HAVE FUN!!

Now that is my kind of date! What a great DH you have. I hope you have a lot of fun and buy some good stuff. You will really like HL. It is a crafter's paradise.

I wish I had one of those stores near me the closest to me is a MIcheals and it is a 30 min drive...
Well... in my great big town... we have a combination pharmacy/hardware store and a tiny grocery store to buy stuff at. (Population 2000) But.. 30 minutes away is Fargo. Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Joann's, a scrapbookstore, a stamp store... plus all of the other big box stores. Fargo has literally become a shopper's mecca. We have no need to go to the Mall of America anymore because Fargo pretty much has it all! I'll take a 30 minute drive to get to the stores any day! (Not to mention all of the awesome restaurants.)
Thirty minutes here means it's just a hop, skip, and a jump! ;)

That's how it is here too. People who live in a suburban area are shocked to find out it's a 30 - 60 minute drive to go to the mall or shopping for me. But us folks who live out here in the country have always had to drive to get places so it's not a big deal to us!
You'll love Hobby Lobby!! I can spend hours in there!! Have fun!
Lucky you! Yesterday was my only day off and I had planned a HL trip but had to babysit my 14-month-old teething DGS for 10 long, crabby hours who was doing his best to get Gamma fired! Poor little guy! Needless to say, I was too exhausted to make the trip. ;)

I didn't see anyone mention the online discount coupon. Just register at www.hobbylobby.com and they will email their weekly specials and at the bottom of the ad, there is a printable online only coupon. Most weeks it is 40% off any non-sale item, so register right away. You should also be able to get it just by viewing the web site, but once you've registered, you'll get it every week! I hope you have a great time! They have a great stamping and embellishment section compared to Michaels, and I work at Michaels so I can testify to that!
I lived in a rural community for 20 years (didn't care much for it) and know the pains of having to really travel to get to a craft store. While living far away does make it a special occasion to go to Michaels, I much prefer being just a few minutes away now! I think it's simply adorable that your DH thinks so much of you to do something like that for he. He obviously knows what makes you happy. He sounds like a real keeper!
