<-----Wishes she could go again! I went to Winter CHA and it was fabulous! Just meeting the many SCS'ers was the best part, but of course all of the fabulous products helped too! If I'm lucky I will be able to make the Winter CHA 2010 (hubby says only one per year) lol
It was long days, overwhelming and worth every single penny! I would do it again in a heart beat!
PS If you go, you gotta meet sweet Miss Jenn Balcer! She is just totally adorable

Thanks!! I am so hoping too!! As long as she is at the consumer show!!
Oh my word! I just found out that my hubby and I are going to be in Orlando that week for vacation! I seriously can't believe how lucky I am! He is totally up for going with me too! Isn't that amazing? Haha! This will be my first time going. It has always been too far for me to justify going.

I'm going to go, too! I am traveling alone and was hoping to find someone to enjoy all the fun with! I haven't booked a flight or hotel yet. Where are y'all staying? I'd love to meet up with any/all of you!!

As I said in an earlier post, I was going with 2 or 3 of my girlfriends but it looks like they're all dropping out like flies. One already had another conflict, one wanted to go but wanted to bring her DH & 2 year old DD (while I wanted to make it a "mommies only" event) and the 3rd is up in the air... At this point, I'm going alone, too (driving from South Florida - about 3 hours away) but I don't care - I'm GOING! It's my Mother's Day gift to myself! lol
Aside from there being an SCS booth or exhibit, we should plan a meet-up at a local resturant or something of the sort. And we should all definately have badges at CHA. Perhaps one of the computer savvy ladies on here can make a badge template that we can download, add our names and wear to CHA to make us easily identifiable! lol
Soooo--I seem to have found a great deal at the Peabody hotel. I was thinking I wouldn't be able to afford it, but it looks like a great deal. You pay an extra $16 a day for free wifi, bottled water, and some travel tickets that will take you to different places along International drive. It's right across the street from the convention center. PLUS, the ducks will do their ritual elevator ride in the mornings and evenings.
Yep, maybe, pretty sure GOING to the CHA Supershow on Friday and Saturday.
2 friends and I are putting our heads together to go; plans are to fly out of Indy to Orlando on Thursday, July 30.
Which hotel listed on the supershow site is nearest to the convention center? Is it walkable from nearest hotel to convention center? If we stay at another hotel, do most offer ground transportation to and from the convention center? We have to decide which hotel to stay at and not knowing the area at all, any help in our decision making is greatly appreciated!

Anyone else staying at the Peabody?!?!

I'm so looking forward to meeting the MFT Lady herself. Wahooooo!!

Now that's a good reason to go to the CHA! ;)

I'm afraid I will fall over in a dead faint and miss everything, if I meet GinaK, MFT lady, Nichole Heady, Jenn Balcer.......hopefully I fall over AFTER I meet them....then I will still be happy....!!

Oh, you are such a sweetie! I won't be there this year. My girls are competitive swimmers and it's looking like they will be qualifying for some meets that fall around the same time so it's too tight for us. But make have a drink with the Splitcoast ladies for me!

Oh poo Gina......but your family is so important, especially at this age and when they are in something they love, all of your encouragement is doubly important!
Jenn.....is there a dress code? (she said, cringing at the thought, but always willing to try new things..)
I am sooo hoping to go. My DH keeps telling me to book my flight.
I have a BFF that I haven't seen in 13 years that lives in Orlando. I will be staying with her if I convince myself to come.
I am fighting with myself about leaving my grandson for a few days. I am not sure how he will do with me away. He's so used to me being there all the time. Heck, I feel guilty when I leave for the day without him!!! LOL!!!
I'm coming over from Perth in Western Australia. My Mum and I are visiting New York and then catching the train down to Orlando (perfect timing huh?). It is a birthday celebration for both of us, I'm turning 40 and my Mum 65 so we decided to treat ourselves to an overseas holiday - can't wait. I'm so excited to meet all the "stamping royalty" from the blogs I read and the manufacturers I buy from  I hope I get to meet lots of you at the Supershow!!

Oh, that sounds wonderful!! I hope you have an amazing time.
I wish you could pack me and take me back to Perth. I went to Australia in 2005 and I was bummed that we didn't have enough time to go to Perth--bummer!! I also knit and I know of a great little yarn store there. Besides, it's stunningly beautiful. Perhaps on my next trip overseas!
At any rate--enjoy your time with your mom, it should be a blast!

Thanks very much for your good wishes!
I'm sorry you missed out on seeing Perth, but I understand, it is hard to justify the time it takes to get here from the East Coast. All the other capitals in the east are pretty close together and you can drive quite easily from place to place. If you ever get to Perth you should definitely check out the coast down South where all the wineries are, it is beautiful and the wine is pretty good too It's one of our favourite places to go for vacation.

That sounds like a dream. I hope to take DH one day and I plan on making Perth a priority. I've heard you can take a train from the east, but I don't know that to be fact. I think that would be a blast!
I'll be there on the 27th for the Copic class! Then I am going back for CHA , but I am not sure what day to go back. I live an hour and a half south so i can come and go pretty easily!
I having been trying to find out of there will be any type of meeting for SCSers ...anything planned??

You are quite right, the Indian Pacific brings you across the Nullabor to Perth from Melbourne, Sydney & Adelaide. I think that would be a wonderful trip to do, lots of outback to see from the train! I hope you get here one day :-D
 I just heard that StampFest is June 27 and 28 in Orlando. If I could just go to one CHA or StampFest which should I choose? It will be an eight hour drive for me.
Flourishes will be at CHA...the wholesale show portion It is a great experience to see all the new items that will be available for ordering. But an attendee is there for wholesale shopping only. No actual goodies to purchase and take home. This part of CHA closes on Thursday.
Flourishes will not be exhibiting at the Craft Show as part of CHA, maybe next time. This is an entirely different than the wholesale segment. Flourishes will be "walking the floor" as we say and hoping to see many of you there. It is the first time that CHA has done this and it could be a great thing, we'll see.
I think the hype for the shows has been misleading for most folks. Most think they will be attending "THE" CHA, when it will be a very different animal. There is also a stamp fest or show in the area there as well.
Do I think it is worthwile...Absolutely YES....SCS will have a booth at the Craft show so you will be able to meet Daven, Jenn and Lori...as well as some of the Member Companies folks as well. It should be a great time. Come on Joan. We could meet too and I would love that!
You're the second one to say that it is misleading. I was expecting to be able to shop and have fun. Plus, take a class. I'm a little concerned that there won't be much shopping. :(
I really want to go too! Anyone need a roommate (or know someone who does?)? I'm planning on coming Thursday to Sunday (30th - 2nd) and would love to split the cost of a room with a fellow stamper.
If you are not a member of CHA, what you will be attending will be the Craft Show, which is actually taking place after CHA, the trade show. This something that is new this year - a consumer show taking place once the trade show is finished.
At the Craft Show you will be able to purchase things as with any consumer show. At CHA, retailers order from manufacturers. There is so selling allowed at CHA. It is strictly for placing orders for new product lines.
It may have sounded as if you would be attending THE CHA, but that is not the case.
Well, I was planning on going Saturday since I live two hours away but now am not sure what I would be going to....I thought it was "THE" CHA, not just a craft show. Eh, I guess if I can buy stuff and meet the SCS gang, it's worth it whatever it turns out to be.
